Pros

Good base salary. Bad bonus structure.

Cons

Management, management and management. Big Management are totally disconnected from the problems that are boring the lower floors. Managers in general (with some exceptions) don't have a clue on how to solve the problems and are mainly focussed on maintain their jobs no matter what. As a result they are much more concentrated on politics and dirty fights instead of on improving the organization and results. Managers without the right and addecuate background nor the right experience are given positions where these skills and knowledge are strongly needed. The "great" answer is to continuously create new "Plans" or "Projects" that lead to nowhere but to a big expenditure. Too many "lacks": Lack of clear vision and direction. Lack of teamwork. Lack of proper organization. Lack of harmonization. Bad atmosphere. Too many resignations and layoffs in a very short period of time. Past years without Bonus due to bad financial results. Share has drop from 10 eur to less than 2 eur in a few years. Company too much foccused on IT solutions rather than to improve bad procedures, bad structure, bad organization.... The best computer solution in the World can not solve the lack of organization, lack of knowledge, lack of ....

Pros

Decent pay levels, career progression opportunities for some

Cons

Poor leadership with many managers only thinking about themselves without any feel for their plants and operators. Poor employee relationships. Management taking irrational decisions, making people redundant in poor manner with lack of communication. Plant wearn out without investments and poor environmental performance. Consultants come and go frequently making plenty of money out of the ignorant. No career planning. Values are a farce.

Pros

zinc business is very interesting, it has potential with new management. When politically managed correct, you have a lot of freedom in your job.

Cons

no vision, constantly changing targets, burning money on consultants, assets are not carefully reviewed during M&A process, creative book keeping, CEO disconnected from business, high rotation level, no talent development program, its more fire than hire. sr. management doesn't live their company values (e.g. integrity, honesty). It's a pity, company could be very profitable.
