Pros

Location near Gravity, bank holidays

Cons

Leadership. To say the leadership of this mediocre little bank is myopic is an understatement. The CEO meddles in everything, even areas he knows nothing about. Especially repulsive are his rants against "liberals." They're losing talent left and right and the place has the feel of a sinking ship, especially on the mortgage side. If you want to be part of a company that's doing something interesting and even the least bit forward thinking, you need to look somewhere else.

Northpointe Bank Response
8y
It is unfortunate you feel your experience with Northpointe Bank was poor, and it is clear your negative social media blitz is completely incidental, given none of these concerns were shared or indicated prior to the end of your employment with the bank. Northpointe is proud of its superior customer service, including its overwhelming positive customer surveys with 98% satisfied and highly satisfied responses. We are proud that Grand Rapids Magazine reader’s poll voted Northpointe Bank as the Best Bank for the fourth year in a row! Also, the National Association for Business Resources recently named Northpointe Bank as one of West Michigan’s Best and Brightest Companies to Work For. Additionally, the ICBA Independent Banker has ranked Northpointe Bank as a top performing financial institution in the nation for each year since 2014 (Best Performing Bank ranked by return-on-equity). Banking has always been about building relationships. We are proud of our positive reputation in the industry, and we will continue with our philosophy of “Making Connections for Success”. We also remain committed to investing in staff and technology to execute Northpointe’s client-focused approach to banking. Northpointe offers among the highest money market rates in the U.S., GUARANTEED, and operates 27 loan centers across the country providing low mortgage rates. This organization provides economic support for more than 400 families, and we will continue to support our outstanding employees. With our strong growth, we will attract new employees that are aligned with our culture of treating people how we want to be treated… and not employing arrogant, insubordinate, dismissive employees that refuse to work well together. Horrible experience working there. Two ladies single handedly got me fired.

Pros

Decent pay, decent benefits. Paid lunches occasionally

Cons

No structured training, terrible communication. Was my word against the two ladies I worked with, at one point they both ignored me for two months without speaking to me for no reason to be explained. At one point they lied and voiced to management I was arriving to work late, but I instinctively started taking pics of my computers time and date when I arrived. My supervisor called and asked why I wasn’t working when I was supposed to be based on the info from the other women and I emailed her a picture to show I was working when I was supposed to be. Sad that my job came to that point where I always had to watch my back. Very immature environment.
