Pros

The offices were supplied weekly with fresh fruit. With the right leadership, could be a great company to work for.

Cons

The business works its people too hard. Long hours was the norm for salaried staff. Being understaffed was the norm for hourly. Sr. Management decisions often seemed capricious and didn't really seem focused on growing the business, improving profitability, and protecting the core.

Nederman, you are only as strong as your employees.

Pros

Pay & benefits are pretty comparable to other medium sized companies, more than small private companies. Make sure you get it in writing before jumping on board. Very high ethics, particularly on financial activity and financial stable. If you're in sales, it can be pretty exciting for a while, BUT the honeymoon will end quickly.

Cons

If you're in a leadership or sales position, then expect the strategic direction to be vague and without a solid business plan. It's unlikely you'll be given the guidance, time or resources for a significant initiative. Bureaucracy is limited mainly because of thin staffing. This also means you're not likely to find a procedure or knowledgeable manager with spare time to give you direction. Organic growth is limited due to lack of innovation of current product lines and weak product development training. Morale is pretty low in many areas because of the constant headcount reductions. The thin staffing burns a lot of people out and leads to short sighted actions.

Pros

The autonomy and fluid expenses are great.

Cons

It is futile to ask for a pay raise because they do not ever respond in a professional manner which has led to many people walking out the door ot the reason for why they were let go. It is very frustrating and HR is in league with management, so careful what you say as it is not private and more of a boys club. The constant rotation of management and the hands off approach gets a little tiresome when they do not communicate effectively and duck issues and concerns. Sometimes management messages seem a little on the fake side with messages like "I want to take this journey with you" and things like that. Just talk like a real human.
