Hopeful but Suffering

Pros

Flexible work schedule for some, good employee benefits package, most staff are great to work with. Experienced rapid growth through 2006-2007.

Cons

Suffering from economic-induced staff reductions and unable to compensate remaining staff. Workload inconsistently distributed. It's becoming harder to keep up and maintain quality level. Fearful that over-worked staff will seek employment elsewhere causing additional quality/workload issues.

Stay Away - Disappointing...

Pros

Benefits are mostly paid for by the organization, alternate work schedules, and the ability to work from home (sometimes).

Cons

Rampant favoritism where preferred employees are able to take advantage of the alternate work scheduling and remote work as well as obtaining promotions that they are unqualified for. Management has the ability to come and go as they please (they do not stay a full business day in the office). When management cannot meet their performance objectives, the blame falls on subordinates. Consistently reorganizing to eliminate employees who have voiced concerns about favoritism or do not fit into the management "clique." Does not listen to suggestions from employees. Unprofessional conduct by management where fraternization with subordinates and board members routinely occurs (private trips together and after hours during corporate events).

Pros

Nice location, new office furniture

Cons

Don't ever expect to get promoted. It won't happen unless you are part of the in crowd, or are good friends with someone at the top. Only one employee was able to work from home, full time poolside in Florida. They just happened to be super good friends with all the higher ups. Spent loads of time together outside of work, etc. etc. etc. I shouted at them for YEARS about doing their own certification program and was repeatedly shut down because of my position in the company. I was too lowly to be listened to. What did I know? They hired a consultant for THOUSANDS. Consultant tells them the same thing. Guess who now has their own certification program? If you want to be heard, seen, respected, promoted, look elsewhere. This is not for you.
