Pros

Get exposed to a lot of differing power plant technology, and are given "opportunities" to perform work and have responsibilities well above employment level very quickly. This is good for when you are ready to find a new job.

Cons

The added work responsibilities do not come with promotion opportunities. You just get paid the same to take on more than you are being compensated for. Travel expectations vary based on Manager, but can be told to travel outside of normal working hours with little to no compensation given to make up for extra hours worked. If you are a woman, you really don't have much of a chance at succeeding here. Managers are allowed to make inappropriate comments/threats without any real repercussions. I seriously think they are due for a lawsuit based on the harassment and inaction by HR.

Pros

Benefits especially a 401k match as well as 6% retirement, some of the co-workers, chili cook off, Holiday party, freedom to work independently.

Cons

Employees are not appreciated. HR Management is a joke. Blatant sexual harassment by the same employees, who are never reprimanded, even after filling a complaint with the Employee Assistance Program. Good ole boys club, former military are protected to the detriment of non military. Moral boosters, such as the United Way fund drive have been eliminated, yet the company sponsored golf game (during work hours) and banquet continue. Annual company picnic was replaced with a Mariners game. Women are paid less than men for the same job even with more experience than the male. Some Managers under the same executive umbrella have allowed comp time, when others follow regulations against this practice.

Pros

Immediate supervisors were very helpful and always had my back but when it came to corporate decisions you were on your own.

Cons

Every person was disposable. Not much guidance when you needed it. HR was a complete joke. People who should have been fired for many reasons were employed forever
