Pros
The people who actually do the real work are very nice.
Cons
Without doubt, the worst place I’ve ever worked. I can’t speak to other departments, but in development management only care about submitting as much crap to the FDA as possible, even if it’s of terrible quality, flies in the face of all regulations and scientific rationale, puts patients at risk and makes our department look like idiots. The hypocrisy of the management is staggering. The same manager who puts pressure on you to break rules to get something done will, in the next hour, be lecturing the department on compliance. If you stand up for what is right you will eventually be driven to leave – it happened to me and it happened to other people. Even if you’re happy to keep your head down and do what you’re told, don’t expect to be treated with a shred of dignity, to get any decent training or development, or to have less than 3 persons full workloads piled on you with basically no guidance. While you’re at it you’ll be working with outdated systems and procedures that might as well be written in crayon for all the robustness and scientific merit they have. I cannot believe this place survives audits. Despite numerous people leaving, numerous people going on stress leave and official complaints of bullying, HR seem powerless to remove to the terrible management.
