Pros

Receiving pay on time and 21 days leave

Cons

Bonded for a year for a useless training course which does nothing for career (not even a certificate or what), three months leave of notice. Fake staff benefits: giving affiliated expensive clinics with pathetic 10% discount, poor medical benefits, no 13th month bonus, pay is NOT of market rate not even close, excessive training to talk about the founder, compulsory staff retreat and made to take annual leave if not attending. Poor learning resources from school and expect teachers to create wonders with limited materials, the claims for materials comes in months after constantly asking, compulsory cooking class with children- whose gonna teach? Teachers are cooks? Then we have to wash the cooking equipment, and claims come in super slow for buying ingredients. Overall a terribly lousy school which do not care about employees but pays a lot for their marketing. Pretentious advertising that tries to affiliate their name with known people, which seriously nobody cares. Only reflects that the company have no real talent that they need to leech on others name. Sad case.

Pros

A lot of opportunities for career progression

Cons

Training for teachers to understand their exclusive lesson plan template is conducted on an average of twice a month. Not helping with the unorganised leadership in the school. Teacher got to also conduct two types of enrichment lessons (CTS - somewhat like a speech and drama lesson, and Neuromoove - a physical and neural development lesson) every week in the afternoon which was not known to me over the interview. What I understood was that there are separate enrichment teachers to conduct the enrichment lessons, and if we were to conduct those lessons, we have to be trained. I was not trained but I was tasked to conduct those enrichment lessons. I asked for training but they only have it 6 months after I joined the company. I feel that it is unfair and inadequate with having to conduct those enrichment lessons in this manner - without letting me know prior to joining (and even told me that it's a separate trained enrichment teacher who conduct it). Not helping that the pay is lower than average. Or lower than my previous school, considering the amount of work that we have to do - conduct enrichment lessons without being trained, washing toys and cots weekly. Contract is also like a scam. It states one-year contract. The contract is very vague in explaining that we can only tender after the end of one year, thus that means you technically got to stay with the company for 1 year 3 months after serving 3-month notice period. If a teacher tender before the one year mark, he/she have to pay two-month salary worth, capped at $8,000 , to pay for the "training fees" as the first year of employment is considered the "Training Fee Payable Period". Upon tendering after my one year contract, I will end my job only next year, which is after December this year. In my previous company, we are entitled to get our bonus as long as we leave the company at the end of the year, which mean my serving notice period is part of my working period. Over here in MindChamps, serving notice period is not part of the working period, and since I tender before December ends, I am not entitled to the bonus even though I will only leave the company next year (after this end December) after serving the notice period. All in all, I feel my experience in MindChamps feels like a scam. I have had a very bad experience here and I will not go back to MindChamps to work ever again.

Pros

1. If you’re just in it to make your resume look nice or be able to flaunt that you’ve worked in a premium preschool, then go ahead. That’s pretty much the benefit you get when you move on to your next job.

Cons

1. This school is honestly all about money. They don’t appreciate nor value you, hence, the turnover rate is really high. There is a reason why they BOND you. And don’t get me started on appraisals or pay increments, or your starting pay for that matter. 2. You work really long hours and they do not believe in OT or pay you if you do OT. They throw a lot of things at you to do and you got to come in earlier or end later to do a task they assign you to do. 3. A 13-month ‘bonus’ really isn’t much of a bonus. 4. Depending on which centre you’re posted to, teachers love gossiping over the smallest things and some are out to get you. 5. The salary they put online is, to be blunt, a clickbait. 6. David Chiem loves boasting about himself. Trust me, you are always gonna hear his very long-winded stories.
