Pros

Paid holidays that's about it.

Cons

Overwhelmed, no workload balance. They will give you three positions but only pay you for one.

Pros

The sense of community among faculty is great. This place is small enough that you either know who does what when you need help, or you know someone who knows who you will need. Colleagues are great, and it's delightful to work with the students.

Cons

Pay is stagnant - you will be hired at a good wage, but raises are extremely minimal and sporadic. Retirement matching is meager, and health insurance is among the most expensive I have ever seen if you have a family, and those premiums go up every year even when pay doesn't. The administration is very disengaged from the faculty and doesn't seem to realize that there is a morale problem, which should be apparent given the high rate of faculty turnover. They are almost completely ambivalent about research.

Horrible Leadership

Pros

Good holiday break, and several very kind people around campus.

Cons

University really going downhill. HR and senior admins hire terrible managers who abuse employees. Despite multiple reports, admins and HR do nothing to stop discriminatory language and actions. Zero work-life balance. When you’re done with work, more and more gets piled on. Little to no recognition for employees on the ground and doing the actual work. Managers take all the credit. No pay raises, but given much more responsibility.
