Pros

A good wage and a chance of regular overtime.

Cons

Work here ONLY if you are OK with putting up with the following:- 1/ You don't mind being told off constantly in a derogatory way for minute mistakes. You are expected to work your way around a Client screen for first time, while pretending to be that company's receptionist and listen to caller, while trying to act professional. All this within the 1st minute of call. 2/ You challenge Managers with errors seen on computer screen and are ignored and most tines never corrected. 3/ You are expected to know everything about the Client you are taking call for, when not all, or any information on screen. 4/ You constantly have to lie to incoming callers, when you know you cannot put call through (showing yourself as an incompletent Receptionist). 5/ You have to take calls from irate, rude and abusive callers, who will at times make personal threats towards you (including threats of suicide if you cannot connect their call). 6/You are prepared to be reduced to tears and belittled from a mature Manager, when they accuse and make threats to better yourself within a short timeframe. 7/ You are prepared to work in an office environment (while in training) that is incredibly 'clicky'. God forbid if you do not fit in. 8/ If you are lucky enough to attend a Grievance meeting, offering detailed valid points for concern - you are simply fobbed off with points that Employer thinks they have helped you with, but ignoring your points mentioned. 9/ Managers leaving so frequently that you are never aware who does what, incl Directors. 10/ All employees are bribed into leaving a 'positive' review on Indeed, with a chance of winning £25 !! So beware if you see a positive review, as it may be untrue. All their Clients are totally unaware how Managers treat the workers.

Pros

Slighter better than average wage at entry level. Some of the first line supervisors and managers are good people in bad jobs. If your good in the role they will move you into a slightly more responsible place but no additional money is forthcoming.

Cons

Bare minimum on staff benefits Expect you to work all hours Promise hybrid but set the bar high and threaten to withdraw it forcing you into the office for late shifts (ferndown is a wasteland after 5pm) Promise Hybrid but make it as difficult as possible Micromanaging breaks & lunches Lunches and breaks are bear legal minimum Always short staffed and busy as they run staff into the ground and then wonder why sickness is so high.

Pros

There are none that I can think of.

Cons

I worked for Message Direct for 6 months. And can say with confidence that it is the worst company I've ever worked for, and most toxic atmosphere I've ever had the displeasure of working in. Day to day bullying, micro managed down to your individual Comfort break times. Accusations of Insubordination when suggesting ways the company could change their ethos and expectations. Poor training. Extremely rude management. Childish and petty behaviour from the CEO. Very unprofessional, argumentative and confrontational. You are expected to take calls for example for Child Psychiatric Lines with no training on how these calls should be handled. Overall, a dire company with no care for the mental wellbeing of their staff. A disgusting attitude towards listening and collaboration and I am proud of the fact that I quit. Do not work for this shambles.
