Pros

Cheap lunches. Short commute time from most areas.

Cons

Company moves in constant circles. CEO has no clue about the American consumer, goes on incoherent ramblings, and does not add any value to the company. Some departments are growing while some are shrinking. Upper management goes on lavish trips while the company is trying to cut back. If you're reading this review, do not apply for an office position here. Two weeks after starting, you'll see how much of a mess the company is in and why the position was open in the first place. And those who didn't do proper job research probably deserve to work here. You'll never understand why things get done the ways that they do. It's just the 1985 way of life. Most positions pay significantly less than the national average.

Down Right Depressing

Pros

Manufacturing firm in Buffalo NY. Hard to find these days.

Cons

Some Senior Level Management believe that by reporting the challenging numbers in a negative way will get the employees to work longer and harder. That would be fine if Senior Management gave clear direction on what to work longer and harder on. Sadly, the Sales & Marketing and Operations department leaders do not know how to lead people and resort to fear tactics as motivation. The results speak for themselves.

Pros

Coworkers are truly great human beings and wonderful to work with. Good health insurance and benefit offerings.

Cons

There's too few people doing too much work. Every team member is asked to wear too many hats. The marketing team undergoes frequent destabilizing reorganization with no logic or support from upper management. Teams are chronically panicked, reactive and unclear on leadership expectations, which has resulted in a pattern of extreme department turnover. Upper management is over-involved in decision making and isn’t willing to understand the American market… and openly bullies anyone who disagrees. TMC’s parent company is Japanese, and their conservative management style inhibits growth, discourages healthy risk, and shows no trust or confidence in middle management. The company is split down the middle - employees are either age 50+ clinging on for retirement, or they're talented young professionals who leave after getting beat down for 5 years. HR is passive and uninterested in addressing the patterns that damage the culture and scare people out the door. But hey, they have popcorn on Thursdays! Jokes aside, there is a dire need for a shift in attitude and an openness to make changes for this company to survive. Look elsewhere if you want to be adequately equipped, supported and appreciated for your skillset.
