Everything! The people are all nice and friendly, probably because we are all treated with respect. Really relaxed, family style atmosphere but doesn't stop your ability to work like some places. Great benefits and staff discounts, management really take the time to talk to everyone and listen to opinions.

Tell you to go home early (usually after 4 hours) so never spending too long in the awful store.

Call you last minute to change shifts, not guaranteed anything above 4 hours a week, told last minute (an hour before) that shifts are cancelled. I have never completed a full scheduled shift as per my rota, always sent home after 4 hours because they ‘have no hours’. Poor wages and benefits. No staff room, back of house is a mess, they closed down in store staff toilet to use as a storage room and make us use another stores (Costa) bathroom. Expect you to do GU training in our own time (over 10 hours worth of training courses) with no pay.

- Overall, it is an easy job - Perfect for college or university students - (Usually) flexible hours/easily resolved rota-based issues - Greater job security in a concept store (Stores the white shelving rather than wire) - Through Mid-January to early October, drops in sales means less customers and therefore less stress - Playing with the products can be fun (turns out, you can get very creative through boredom) - If you get a fun team that pulls together when it gets tough, the atmosphere can be fantastic

- Unless you're in a near-CEO position, don't get comfy. Even the regional managers get replaced very quickly. - If you work in a non-concept store, Q4 of the year is Judgement Day for you. You better hope you make targets, otherwise it's the chop for everyone involved. - Benefits used to be fantastic, but have now been reduced to nothing. - Profit is priority over everything. Your health? Nope. I've heard of staff members receiving death threats over preventing thefts of £15.00 drones. - HUGE markup on most products.It feels like theft when a prroducts retail price is 200% the cost price. - Like most of retail, Christmas is hell on earth. In certain stores, you could be hitting £30k in one day. Pray you don't get a customer in the queue with a complaint or a returned product. - Speaking of returns, it's a case of damned if you do, damned if you don't. The strict return policy means we get shouted at from our bosses if we return it *or* the customer shouts at us for not returning it. It's awful knowing you'll get someone angry either way.

I've worked for Menkind for over 6 years now, it's a great company to work for with a perfect work life balance. The job has zero stress and the upper Management are always on hand to help when needed. The benefits are good and salary is fair., There is a good selection of stock and delivery day is like Christmas every week when opening all the new stock. How many other jobs do you get to demonstrate a wall climbing car and a drone throughout the day?? Work hard and you get rewarded with some great incentives.

Fast pace, energetic, great benefits, brilliant support team in place. Working for Menkind is one of the best retail stores to work for, no day is ever the same and they have the biggest variety of products.
