Pros

Training. Mayer is strong in training employees to better know what they are doing. Be is sales or in the warehouse. Everyone gets training multiple times a year. The people. You have great people working with you as a team. Some have been with the company 40+ years. Set hours. Monday through Friday 6am to 4:30pm and in some branches a rotating Saturday from 8am till noon. They promote from the inside. I started in the warehouse on the night crew and within a year I had been promoted 2 times to customer service then to sales (counter). 2 years later I was in commercial outside sales.

Cons

Cost of employee insurance has risen in the last 8 years. Branch management wanting to micro manage and get involved in large quotes. Commission scale for counter and inside sales in one of the lowest in the industry. Vacation. To get 3 weeks you have to be there 4 years. Which most competitors do after 5 years

Pros

Work life balance is decent.

Cons

Not even sure where to start. Management has lied so much about positions, moving up and even to customers and vendors. Branch I'm in , is so dysfunctional, like you wouldn't even believe. If your in "the click", then you can do pretty much whatever you want, like not show up when your supposed, let family and underage minors run around, and get promoted when your not here half the time. The language used is despicable and not language that should be used in any business, except a bar. And don't do anything that you wouldn't want others to know about, because these people will talk about you as soon as you step out of the room. I've worked at several jobs in my life time, and this place is just sad. But, like i said, if you join the "GOOD OLE BOYS CLUB" you'll be just fine. Oh, and like the other's state. Unless your a salesperson, you get paid very little, and forget about asking for one, because you'll be told your capped out. You'll also be told about all these promotion opportunities that will never happen.
