Pros

Matternet is amongst the leading companies working on drone delivery, has identified a great niche to be working in, and has partnerships with great companies.

Cons

While there's a lot that is exciting about Matternet, the struggles run deep, from serious issues with the technology, to even more serious issues with the leadership (see commentary in first review of the company for more here). Matternet seems to be quickly falling behind the competition due to these issues, and the likelihood of recovery seems low. If you're interested in the space, I'd suggest looking elsewhere; at the very least, make sure you're digging deep to understand the minefield you're walking into.

Pros

My favorite part about working at Matternet was that they work toward the solution as a whole. Too many startups in my experience focus on the technical details of a solution, not the problem. It's refreshing to engineer solutions when you see them not only being used, but being the first of their kind in production. Otherwise it's still a great place to innovate, stretch your abilities, and work with a wonderful team.

Cons

Typical startup cons although those are not cons for everyone. I loved every bit of it. Matternet helped me grow immensely but eventually I was attracted by other companies that could offer better compensation and a more balanced lifestyle. Too be clear; No one at Matternet made me work hard, but they did make me want to work hard.

Pros

Amazing leadership team...they truly have an awesome vision, and have a very solid niche in the UAS logistics market. HR was very friendly, transparent, and make you feel at "home" during the entire interviewing/hiring/on boarding process. (This is rare) The employees are highly intelligent, friendly, and welcoming to their team...and what a team they have there. I'm telling you, with some hard work, this company will be very well known. Solid game plan going forward with clear expectations of what is needed to reach the progressively stepped long term goals. You are working with cutting edge aerospace, tech, robotics, and startup finance. You will be completely immersed in your group, and get the chance to wear a few hats and make a real change in the long history of aviation. Location is very nice, and ideal for living in just about any area around the "peninsula," East Bay, or South Bay. I get the feeling of stability, and solid growth if we meet our objectives.

Cons

I have no cons, I think they are doing a wonderful job. If there was one in my short time I've been there so far, I would say market compensation could be slightly higher to match the local rents, and other similar roles. (But I knew this as part of living in the Bay Area, so I was prepared).
