Matalan Retail Reviews

lack of honesty as some of my manger friends who still work in Matalan have told me they are being asked to write glowing reviews of matalan by there area managers and HR department so instead of dealing with the issues of low pay no work life balance and a head office that couldnt organise a party in a brewery ...they try and cover it up. I stayed because it is honesty the best group of people i have ever worked with left because upper management did not want to hear any issue or problems just be told how amazing they are. So be aware its not worst place to work but its not all rosy like some of the reviews have painted

management bully staff - make fun of staff with disabilities management leave work half way through a shift for no reason terrible atmosphere in store - very low moral low wage for the level of work expected no work/life balance very reactionary business - they let you know they are going into sale the day before it actually happens head office genuinely have no idea what REALLY goes on in stores no room for development its just a really awful place to work - I don't know how I managed 9 months working in such a horrific environment run by such dishonest and unprofessional bullies I left without another job to go to because it was so awful
