Pros
The people. Its a small company, and with very few exceptions, everyone is very good at their jobs. It is nice to be able to depend on your co-workers. Flexibility is a big plus as well. Working at MAI allows for a great work/life balance, and provides enough flexibility in hours to be able to take care of personal things (go to a doctors appointment, pick up the kids early one day, etc) when they come up. The pay is good and benefits are great. The President is very generous with bonuses, profit sharing, etc. and cares about the employees.
Cons
It is near impossible to get promoted based on job performance--Years of service is more important. MAI holds on to a strict rule that you must have 5 years experience inorder to get promoted from Analyst/Engineer to Senior Analyst/Engineer. Additionally, you are not elegible to be promoted to Project Manager until 10 years.
