Pros

The peer group and junior developers are generally supportive and technically competent. The physical office infrastructure is decent.

Cons

There is a severe lack of work-life balance and respect for personal time. There is an expectation to attend weekend meetings (Saturdays) with zero prior notice, which management frames as standard procedure rather than poor planning. Project scoping is highly disorganized. During my brief tenure, leadership lacked clarity on basic environment requirements (flipping between Ubuntu and Windows at the last minute), which resulted in wasted budget and demands for sudden, unplanned interstate travel extensions. Furthermore, management demonstrated zero flexibility or empathy regarding documented family medical emergencies, prioritizing non-critical OS setups over established personal boundaries.
