Pros

-Important missions for key DoD and Intel customers -Good opportunities to work with customers directly. This is where the satisfaction comes from -Above average pay -Excellent benefits

Cons

- Still trying desperately to look like a small company and pretend to be "family oriented". Its not real - CEO in over his head. Lacks the gravitas or leadership to take things to the next level. Poor communicator. Professional development is narrow. - Management "Team" includes about 10-12 personnel, all vying for attention and prestige. Show me another company at this revenue level behaving like this. -Core Values are somewhat contrived and selectively enforced. A couple make no business sense. - ESOP will become an albatross as time goes on and growth rates can't be sustained. too many small companies fell into this trap. MTSI will experience same problems -Company refuses to subscribe to engineering management methods. Everything is homegrown at management and infrastructure level. Unusual for an engineering firm. Sort of like the mechanic whose car doesn't run. -Really 3 separate companies (HSV, DAY, DC) masquerading as a single entity.

Pros

They do have good benefits, but knowing what I know now, it is not at all worth it.

Cons

See title of my review... bad (or no) leadership and no opportunity for advancement. Regarding MTSI at Huntsville, AL, I have never worked with more deceitful, manipulative, and harsh people as these. My time with MTSI was never a picnic. Management is terrible. There is one fellow who works there in particular, who likes to raise his voice at everyone… sometimes you will hear him yelling through the halls. He is very highly critical and enjoys putting others down. I had my own problems with him and then, when I spoke to a couple of other employees, found out that another former employee had left the company and moved just to get away from him. There is another fellow who works here that gives everyone headaches. I know of at least two other employees there that hate working with him. His personality is like he is on steroids. NOTHING is ever good enough for this fellow and he will keep track of you until he finds something to wreck you with. I’ve seen it happen and I know of at least one former employee who quit to get away from him as well. In short, this is a horrible place to work, mostly because of management but also because they promise a lot that they will never deliver on. I can also tell you that they made more than one false promise to me while I was there. They promised training that NEVER came through. Avoid this place at all costs.

MTSI Response
11y
I apologize for the delayed response, but thank you for taking the time to provide feedback. I'm certainly sorry to hear that you had a negative experience at MTSI and that your experience doesn't seem to match our core values, especially that employees come first, and of open, honest, and respectful communication. We try very hard to live up to our core values every day and make MTSI a great place to work for all of our employee-owners. Most feedback we receive is very positive, so it is especially concerning to learn of your negative experience. I certainly hope that you were able to discuss these issues with your HR lead or other management in Huntsville, or anonymously through headquarters in VA before you left so that your concerns could be investigated and addressed. If not, I'd be glad to speak with you in confidence so that we can look into your concerns. Thanks again for your feedback. I wish you the best in your future endeavors. v/r, Matt

Pros

Great Benefits Compensation Possible Growth Some good people there

Cons

Where to begin? what operations wants they get even at the cost of compliance and ethics. Throwing money at problems and hiring more people doesn't equal success when trying to fix issues. No communication in terms of performance, next steps, or departmental changes Unfair and unequal treatment of employees
