Pros

Good facilities, decent culture and outreach

Cons

They fire people indiscriminately and sometimes within a few weeks of hiring only because there is an after thought on the position mentioned. The reasons could range from "not a good fit" to "background check had discrepancy." Interestingly, they conduct background check after the candidate joins only so they can keep the option of firing open. Advice: do not leave your present job and go to MSCI. Or be prepared to lose your job in a few weeks or months.

Thank you for your feedback, we take your comments very seriously. Our robust policies and processes are designed to ensure integrity in everything we do. Specifically, on the background verification process you mention – our employment contract contains a clause which verbatim states “MSCI conducts a background check for all new hires. Confirmation of your services in the firm is dependent on successful completion of the background check”. These background checks are aligned to industry best practice and only commence post written consent and acceptance from our new hires. While the endeavor is to complete it prior to onboarding, in some cases that may not happen for a variety of reasons outside the control of MSCI. In rare and unfortunate cases where there is detection of incorrect, inaccurate, falsification or omission of material information, the individual is given a fair chance to clarify or explain them in writing. These practices are in place to ensure we operate in a fair manner, with integrity to all our stakeholders.

Pros

well only thing that comes to my mind is office is good and toilets are clean.

Cons

Its like taking a bait, they will lure you in with high starting salary compared to the market, but only because work they will make you do is completely irrelevant from what the market is doing. if you get stuck here for 2 or more years your skill set will deteriorate so fast, you will not be able to get other job unless you want to do operations, then other MNC will hire you. Also initial package cant sustain as further hikes are well, lets just say matter of laughter. It is basically a death trap of your careers, HR will tell you "Your career is in your hands" but it isn't a career if you ask me, work is anyways useless once you leave the firm and you will get promoted only on basis of knowledge in your current profile and moment you leave the company that knowledge is total redundant as no 1 outside cares or understands what they do. And team managers are another level of pain, remove them from their current position and a college fresher is smarter than them. They are just as dumb as work the company makes you but act as if they are running million dollar funds. what a joke.

Pros

Working hours are decent, office views in NY are excellent

Cons

Terrible culture that stiffles innovation, almost all the talent has left the research team since the research head doesn't know his face from his butt, Henry has surrounded himself with yes-men/women while most of the senior leaders are trying to only protect their jobs, they take the research of younger employees and present it their own, .... Can keep going...

We are sorry you feel this way. Based on feedback by other employees and workforce data we routinely collect the culture, work environment and engagement is actually strengthening. We take your comments seriously. If you feel this strongly, why don’t you express your concerns directly to your manager, senior management or HR. What do you have to lose? Expressing this level of discontent in an anonymous way is personally unhealthy and does little to improve your situation or the environment in general. Please consider becoming part of the solution.
