Pros

People on the teams are generally good to work with and helpful. Working from home is nice, except the fact they want people in the office 2 days a week for no obvious reason. Work life balance is pretty decent, rarely is any overtime required.

Cons

First off let me say that any replies you see from VP of Talent Management you should ignore. You will notice that they will only focus on any slight mention of anything good in these reviews and pretty much blatantly ignore any of the negative things. THIS IS A COMMON THREAD AT THIS COMPANY!! They will sugar coat EVERYTHING and any negatives they can't come up with a good retort to, they will just tell you that you are wrong and obviously the issue is you. They do not take criticism or input well. Hybrid work, it should be set up so that the people that want to continue to work from home can do so and those that wish to go in to the office can. There is no reason for me to waste an hour of my time driving to the office to sit there, probably without my team, and do the same things there that I can do at home. Outdated tech stack. Do you like to program? You do? Tough!! You will have to use archaic and limiting web design or the newer, yet somehow worse, app studio! Little to no coding for you! They often state that they are moving us to newer tech stacks to modernize us...no...they aren't, DO NOT BELIEVE THEM! Ridiculous cult like mentality. Pat would be better as one of those self help guru speakers than he is at running this company. Leadership is so out of touch it's not even funny. They will ask for suggestions on how they can improve things just so they can ignore them. The pay....my god is the pay here so low. This alone should stop you from working here. You will make 10's of thousands less here than you can at a real software company. Focus here is on acquiring new companies, basically to have their customer base to sell more stuff to. There will be no integrating of the acquired companies software in to anything else that we actually maintain and aren't letting die on the vine. You will, at least at the moment, here the term AI thrown around A LOT here. AI FIRST! Problem is our tech stack can't handle AI and what they think is AI is really just PDF readers for the most part.

Thank you for sharing your feedback. I can tell that you are frustrated. As it pertains to remote work, we have decided as a business that we find great benefit in a hybrid work model. We believe that employees deserve flexibility and that employees benefit from in person interactions and collaboration. If you feel like your in-office time isn't adding value, I encourage you to speak with your manager and your team to schedule collaborative sessions and meetings during your office time. As for our technology, we are a 50 year old software company. We are growing and booming and do have some tech debt - which is expected for a company of our long standing history. We are actively working towards modernizing our stack and that comes in many forms and at many speeds. You allege that feedback falls on deaf ears, but quite to the contrary, we have completed our annual survey and have action plans at the company, regional, departmental, and (in most areas) management level. Please reach out to your manager or local HR team if you want more information.

Pros

Everyone below director works their butt off in an ultra lean working environment.

Cons

Low Salary Capped raises or no raises at all. C suite executives will always get their raises and bonuses. Small bonuses if any. Every department fights for resources. No CTO/CIO, everything is run by the CEO and CFO. No unified software solution company wide so nothing works as intended. Everything is an emergency all the time and all the employees are firefighters. CEO spends more time selling our own products to us rather than actually improving our working conditions. Single points of failure for knowledge base in literally every department. Just paid for a 10 year lease on an enormous warehouse that they now need to justify and are forcing people back into the office. Right after all those studies said that working from home was better for employees in literally every way. They call it company culture but it’s really just a cult.

Pros

The cafe on site is nice.

Cons

Toxic company culture. SLT and management do not value their employees. Low pay. Below average benefits. No opportunity for growth. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME HERE. Long hours are the norm and extra work is never recognized by management. Questional business decisions by leadership. High turnover work environment.

I'm sorry to hear that you aren't feeling appreciated. I encourage you to seek out a conversation with your supervisor or someone in Human Resources. The finance team at MRI is certainly an extremely hardworking group. And, yes, our acquisition activity has added new and challenging projects for all groups - finance included. It's important to us at MRI that we continue to reward and recognize employees who go above and beyond. We recently returned from our annual recognition trip - Circle of Excellence - where we had 2 finance team members in attendance. Both were recognized for exceptional performance and dedication to MRI. In addition to that, the Senior Leadership Team held an offsite to specifically talk about internal processes and improve the way our company operates and teams perform. If there are areas in your department that should be reviewed, please flag them with your management team -- this is exactly in line with one of our biggest priorities for 2019!
