Pros

Free Coffee. Desks are nice. Not much else. The company seems to run the same as the last 50 years.

Cons

No growth opportunity at corporate unless you're in the in crowd. No bonus or pay increase. Nepotism is alive and well. No one wants to take responsibility for anything. Always seems to be in crisis mode.

Pros

Friendly coworkers at the branch level.

Cons

The lack of leadership was apparent from the get go. I’ve never been part of a company that did not have any structured training, nor have I ever worked at a company where my boss only spoke to me about once a month, if that. Never once got any feedback on the job my department was doing, unless it was an Outside Sales Rep complaining about needing something from my department. I would organize meeting with the Sales Reps & our Regional Manager monthly to try & improve our win %, they would be scheduled WEEKS in advance. Regularly, I would only have 2-4 people out of 10 show up, upper management would just stare at their phone & not speak to anyone, then leave as soon as it was over without even saying bye. Yet they wonder why they aren’t #1 in plumbing like they want to be. They wonder why they aren’t winning jobs, barely ever. Morrison will keep doing the same finger pointing they have been until ownership wakes up & realizes THEIR LEADERSHIP are de-motivating, disengaged, totally hands off people & will not change from doing the bare minimum until someone holds them accountable.

Pros

PTO, Knowledge of Plumbing Industry

Cons

From the beginning of my employment with Morrison, working for the company was nothing short of horrifying. To start my career there, my onboarding would be a mess. I had to go twice for a drug screen because Human Resources had not provided me with the correct paperwork. I would be subjected to listening to two older men complain about everyday tasks. They would make remarks about other employees. The company has no culture and no employee engagement, so it wasn't as if their complaints were unwarranted. It just wears a person out to listen to people complain every day about something we have to do. There was essentially no training provided. I sat with the manager one day and had to teach myself from there. The company told the employees they would have a Christmas party, then somehow, whoever was supposed to plan it, "forgot". How convenient. They then claimed there would be a New Year party, which also never happened. I know this stuff seems small, but in my 20 years of professional experience, I have never had a company treat their employees like they are that unimportant. Even the worst company I worked for before this gave us Gift Cards for Christmas. Upper management does not know what is done in your day to day processes. This results in missed communication between their sales team and administrative team. If you want to be treated as an entry-level employee, you will be here. When COVID-19 started, the company sent a video or email out daily about how great the company was still doing. Not to worry, and that we were essential. No one in our office was essential. Every person going to that office daily could have worked from home. They did not even attempt to make a skeleton crew or adjust work locations. This was bothersome in that the CDC and city officials were telling the public to limit social time, and 30+ people would be in the office working, not six feet apart. Meanwhile, the sales team was sitting by the pool while we worked to hold the company afloat. This showed me the company did not care about its employees whatsoever. Just go to Ferguson if you want to work at a supply house.
