Hypocrisy vs. Reality

Pros

Nice international group of people to work with. if you are placed in the right department. Other than the diversity of people (at least in my group) there are no pros for this company. Oh! Except that you an bring your four legged friend with you to the office. But then again you cannot bring it every day as regulations behind bringing pets to the office are extremely rigid and nothing like they portray it in the beginning.

Cons

- The company is pretending to be modern and up-to-date with the world trends. However, it is quite the opposite. It's offices are in an extremely old socialistic building. You feel in here as if you were in a cage. - Top management are like ghosts. - Too many people are employed and are doing nothing to contribute to the company's well-being, which is justified since MOL employs 20 people for a job that can be done by 5. - If you walk around the floors, (and you do not get suffocated by claustrophobia) you can see that many, if not most, people are just losing their time to fulfill the quota of 9 hours. Which, again, relates to my point above. - At the beginning when I arrived they were talking so highly about themselves, how you can have all these different privileges and what not, then once I singed the contract they plain told me none of it was true. ex. you have the possibility to work from home one day of the week (that is supposed to be the rule), however once I started my first week they told me that will not be manageable and therefore I would have to stay in office all 5 days. - Working hours are "supposed" to be flexible as in: as long as you get your job done, you can leave and come to the office whenever you want. Which makes sense, right? In some positions and departments in the company realistically you do not need 9 hours to get the job done, we are not in 1999. Realistically you need 5,6 or max 7 hours of work. However, people stay overtime. They come at 8:30 in the morning and leave at 8,9 in the evening. - Work life HIGHLY predominates over the private life. If you come to work here, be prepared not to have any social and private life. - even though these are the HQs of the group that is so pretending to be highly international (they pretend to, really) 90% of people in the building do not speak a word of English. - there are many, many more things that are wrong with this company, but the most upsetting one, is how false and hypocrite they are. Pretending to be all these nice things, when in reality they are stellar years away from that. - If you plan on growing career-wise, you can forget about it. They are only promoting to the "manager" position their friends, or they will bring an external person who never worked in the company. -They also have this new trend where they are promoting women to higher positions, just to pretend to be more woman-friendly. It is all a mask. I am currently actively searching for new jobs as I am going to stay here only until I find something new.

Pros

Great team , great people 10 years ago.

Cons

This company is the same like the hungarian football teams, the top management has a quota of number of expatriates and bringing them on 2 year contract to show off and state that we are a multinational company. The reality is far from it, zero ethics , broken values , back stabbing with the tacit knowledge of high top management with the help of people from Mckenzie. Hr is executing the orders of management without saying a word, terrified.

Pros

Slightly above average compensation package, but don't think of anything major.

Cons

-Close to zero teamwork - you should try to co-operate with your colleagues but it is not encouraged at any level, zero attention paid to team-balance. The real goal is to always find someone to blame. -Grandpa employees. -Due to gigantic age differences you are expected to stay junior for years. -Professional qualities do not matter - smart people who don't like to dress in fancy clothes should especially stay away! -Upper management has luxurious spendings, while company infrastructure is a disaster. -International employees are treated as kings on local employees account. -Your main stakeholder is the Hungarian state, it's not a real free-market company.
