Pros

The overly positive reviews about MGO are posted by MGO INDIA. They started doing this due to the number of bad reviews they were getting. Please pay attention to the negative reviews. Same trend.... this is the reality.

Cons

1. Poor leadership - serious questions about moral and ethical compasses. Partners' do not get along. The tone at the top is filled with greed, negativity and insecurities. 2. Nepotism - ask how many relatives of the COO's are working at MGO. Actually, ask how many relatives in TOTAL are working at the firm. These people, despite their lack of ability and experience, get promotions ahead of all others... even during Covid when nobody was getting promotions, bonuses, etc. 3. There are some long standing employees (15+ years) and Partners who would not be hirable in their roles given their abilities, yet they are still given preference and not corrected when they create toxic, verbally abusive, work environments for others. 3. HR cannot be trusted. 4. Very high turnover = even longer hours, which is a lot for a CPA firm. 5. Very high turnover in clients as well due to lack of ability to honestly fulfill obligations. 6. Performance reviews and training are non-existent and based on favoritism not facts. Firm refuses to implement upward feedback...

Thank you for your feedback! MGO is a firm with multiple offices in different countries and we appreciate each individual's perspective on their experience. We sincerely apologize that you did not have an ideal experience! We do encourage everyone to share - not a particular office, region, or country. We do review employee performance quarterly and have formal annual performance reviews. Moreover, we do provide Soft-Skills Training (Seniors and above), internal training sessions, and technical training from external providers.

Pros

Get to work on cannabis companies (public and private)

Cons

I don't know....where to begin. Entry-level associates are not offered training, so Senior Associates through Directors are doing associate-level work, leaving associates no room for professional growth. Engagements therefore are "top-heavy", and Partners wonder why jobs are always over-budget. The firm only goes after home-run clients, but clearly none of them watch baseball because they don't know how to overcome strike-outs, nor do they know the concept of at least getting on-base. I've seen Fortune 100 CEOs host live chats/webcasts, but in the time I've been with the firm, the CEO never hosted any (just emails sent by his EA). Work-life balance is terrible; I've been parents and those with personal issues get no slack and were still expected to work weekends and take calls late at night, on a whim. I personally had to get a second phone just to tune out the work noise.

Thank you for your feedback! We're glad that you enjoyed working on cannabis projects. In regards to your feedback on training, we have added additional Service Line-specific training for all our New Hires and continue to provide various internal & external training opportunities to all staff. We understand that balancing responsibilities for a remote school & work environment can be challenging as well. We're continuously striving to better our training offered and better manage changing work environments.
