Pros

Stable last time. Not now... Pay is average. But things getting worse now

Cons

Poor management. Lots of incompetent people. Dreadful environment. Transformation backfiring, instead of improvement, things are worse in many aspects now. Last time it's stable and there is good work life balance. Now? OT is normal now because there are lots of messy things and redoing work. Because of more stress and pressure, bosses and everyone now starting to twist their words. Everyday you must be alert and watch their words, note down every sentence said. Any mistakes? Push fault to subordinates. Work is okay? Claims credit for themselves. Be very careful. Everything must be black and white or else you will be used and blamed for anything. Lots of 'yes'-men and 'yes'-women who over-promise and under-deliver. Lots of disappointment and messy work now. Lots of gossiping too... everyone wants to find out everything about everyone, what's going on, to protect themselves when things get worse. Morale low everywhere now. Pay is low. Hard work not rewarded here. They promise things will get better after this difficult period. But no one believes it at all... Do you think this company is stable now? Don't believe it! Essential services and undergoing "digital transformation" and have 5G? All for show only. If you come in, be prepared to suffer. And most likely you will take over some messy files left behind by others... You are warned...

Pros

- The teammates that you work with are mostly friendly and will help you if you need assistance. - They do have a transport allowance and vouchers for new handset. - They do promote their staff but have to wait for a few years.

Cons

I will be transparent with my experience that I have here in M1. - Staff are severely overworked. There is no such thing as ending on time or having the luxury to be able to clear your work before heading home. - Management have trust issue with employees and often scrutinize them if things do not go their way. They really do not understand what is going on on the ground. - Process within the company is so messed up. Basically they are using a system that is considered ancient which will result in hindering your work greatly. Orders submitted will often be rejected. - Turnover rate is extremely high and they know that. The management will just continue to hire new staff and having these new personnel quit very quickly. - You can expect not to get any commission at all and that is rather normal. My advise to anyone who is considering joining the sales team here is that you will be better off finding a right company that values you.

Pros

Pretty nice colleagues, high amount of annual leave, usual medical benefits (insurance, outpatient, etc..), phone discount voucher, staff line, many other benefits especially for those with family etc. 1.5 years ago they started to 'modernise' so no need to wear formal anymore (just smart casual) and can take a few days of MC (MC not required) off which is good and flexible. AWS is most likely guaranteed. You can work here your whole life and not get into any issues if you show up to work on time just do your job. Good if you like corporate environment and your boss takes a liking to your work I guess. But then again it's the same everywhere we go (except tech companies). Work is sometimes challenging and fast moving, which could be a pro or con depending on your style (and the 'challenges' presented). Career opportunities is definitely there if you are a good performer and be someone loud/visible (again this depends on your bosses).

Cons

There is really too much to list from my perspective, I don't know where to even start. I will update this if/when I can with my grandfather/grandmother stories. But for now, those in IT related fields thinking of coming over, I would suggest to stay away if you can as there are a lot of red flags (and I personally came across a few already). Don't waste your time here, unless you really need the job or want to experience M1 or put M1 on your resume. Be prepared for OT especially if you want your bonuses (yes, a lot of us do OT). If you want to change management way of doing things, be prepared for frustration as things move glacier slow here, unless you are THE management then more power to you. I even wouldn't want my worst enemy to join M1. It is really bad right now (at least from my point of view), please find other better (at least for devs) jobs. Now thinking back, I don't have a single thing good that happened in the past year to talk about, except WFH which is more flexible, and M1 is practicing this as per govt guidelines which is great! But I think deep down all of us know it's because one has no more excuse to leave work on time to take the shuttle bus home :D It's a win-win situation as employees get to stay home and M1 get to save money on maintenance and transport claims and get greatly increased productivity from their employees. People looking for yearly pay raise need no apply, it's not guaranteed, and this year it's due to COVID and the bad landscape (p.s. some people still have pay raises, just that keeping it on the DL so not all go and ask for pay raise) I still have a lot more to say, stay tuned for more!
