Low pay, poor management and lack of appreciation for the employees. They say how much they care, but don't show it in action. No real career growth. We work hard for lower-than-average salaries while the owner makes millions and takes all the glory. There is no real constant direction, it changes constantly.
Since it is a family owned business, I have found they are so accommodating to all things family. If your child is sick or if a relative has passed they are very understanding and actually encourage you to take off work and follow up with how you and/or your family is doing. It really shows they care. I have worked here for 4 years and have loved the environment and people here. There are always people in your corner and advising you and teaching you ways to excel.
Cons
There are always pitfalls in any company. I think the main one people would complain about is the diversity of your actual role. I personally love it. I came into this company thinking I had one job to accomplish and within the 4 years I have been here I have had my hands in almost every aspect of the company. It's a great learning tool for me. And looks great on my resume.
