Pros

Absence of Noteworthy Pros in Company Environment

Cons

CEO lacks strategic foresight, often emphasizing ambitions focused solely on achieving IPO goals. The CTO's lack of experience is conspicuous, struggling to grasp technical intricacies without any background in established organizations. HR's approach is heavily resource-oriented, marked by excessive control and ego. Rather than cultivating a nurturing environment, their primary focus veers towards monitoring breaks and office hours. The office environment itself suffers from hygiene issues, with rodent and mosquito problems and evident neglect in cleanliness. The Software Head is notorious for micro-managing, scrutinizing every detail to an extreme extent. His lack of team collaboration mentality and belief that he single-handedly built the entire company hinder cohesive teamwork. The Country Head operates with a façade of promise, often suggesting leadership opportunities while simultaneously undermining employees behind their backs. He is notorious for appropriating others' work, claiming credit for their efforts and speaking ill of them in private. His actions sow distrust and demoralize the team, highlighting a concerning lack of integrity and ethical leadership. This is further exacerbated by a concerning trend among the leadership, where most top-tier executives ascended from intern roles within the company, resulting in a collective deficiency in holistic skills and expertise.

Pros

Talented Community: Once, the company boasted a vibrant community of talented individuals, fostering collaboration and innovation. Excellent Amenities: The workplace once offered excellent amenities, including great pantries, providing a comfortable environment for employees. However, the departure of many talented colleagues has led to a noticeable decline in teamwork. Additionally, pantries food and drinks are no longer freely accessible, diminishing the overall employee experience.

Cons

Forced Fabrication of Reviews: Glassdoor reviews, once a beacon of honest feedback, have been corrupted by management's insidious agenda. Employees, especially leads and new comers are pressured into posting false 4/5-star template reviews, perpetuating a facade of contentment while the truth festers beneath the surface. Deceptive Practices: Engineers are coerced into fabricating fake investor slides, creating a facade of success that crumbles upon closer inspection. The culture of deceit extends to marketing, where exaggerated claims about product capabilities tarnish the company's reputation and erode customer trust. Unjust Firings and Intimidation: The specter of termination looms large, wielded as a weapon of control by management. Baseless terror claims are used to justify the dismissal of employees, instilling a culture of fear and distrust that poisons every interaction. Unrealistic Deadlines: Projects are assigned with scant regard for feasibility, setting employees up for failure from the outset. Tight deadlines, coupled with insufficient resources, lead to burnout and resentment as individuals struggle to meet unattainable expectations. Overtime is not just an occasional necessity but a way of life, with the expectation of working beyond regular hours ingrained into the company culture. Extreme Micromanagement: Higher up obsession with control extends to the minutiae of employees' daily lives. Lunchtime interactions are scrutinized, and any deviation from the norm is met with suspicion. This invasive monitoring breeds resentment and stifles creativity. Favoritism and Parasitic Behavior: Nepotism runs rampant within the organization, with certain individuals enjoying preferential treatment despite their lack of contribution. One of the lead engineers acts as a parasite, draining resources without adding value, shielded from accountability by their proximity to power. Unnecessary Politics: Management's penchant for manipulation creates a toxic environment rife with internal strife and discord. Valuable employees are sacrificed at the altar of office politics, their contributions overshadowed by baseless accusations and personal vendettas. Lot of talented engineers were unjustly forced to resign due to false accusations from the higher up, highlighting the destructive impact of unchecked favoritism and manipulation. Exploitative OT Culture: Working overtime is not just encouraged but expected, with excessive hours becoming the norm rather than the exception. Employees are stretched thin, sacrificing their well-being and personal lives in service of unrealistic demands and deadlines. Those who refuse to comply are punished, branded as incompetent and denied opportunities for advancement or recognition. Patent Writing as a Core Competency Area (CCA): The burden of patent writing is thrust upon employees without regard for their existing workload or personal time. It is treated as a core task, yet no allocated time or resources are provided to fulfill this obligation. Engineers are expected to work on patents during weekends or overtime, further exacerbating burnout and resentment. Survival of the Fittest: New engineers are thrown into the deep end without guidance or proper onboarding processes. Friendly colleagues who attempt to offer assistance risk punishment for neglecting their own tasks. This fosters an environment of cutthroat competition where only the most ruthless thrive, eroding collaboration and fostering a culture of fear.

Pros

- Well-stocked pantry - Exposure to various software infrastructure required to build a robot. - Exposure to some of incredibly talented engineers.

Cons

- Complete lack of planning on requested features. You can be asked to work on a feature for days that ended up being not needed anymore. - Complete lack of guidance/on-boarding process & docs for new employees, causing frictions in knowledge transfer. This is mostly because Senior Engineers have not outgrown the mindset of being an employee of a startup. - Minimal hierarchy that results in various levels of engineers to work on similar types of tasks. - Unsustainable software practises or lack thereof. - Some might have the tendency of favortism, which is not good. - A technology company run by a salesman.
