Pros

If your role is important in their project then they will ask for you otherwise they don't care.

Cons

They don't value your hard work and efforts. They will fire you any time for cost cutting.

Pros

Stability and security, better defined requirements, mostly skilled developers, good pension plans.

Cons

New unqualified technical management without understanding of production processes and needs. Luck of knowledge of existing architecture, software and effort for development and maintenance. Lots of new people hired without qualifications doing little or none of the current work. Investments into always failed initiatives beside the main contract/ business. Lots of ever-growing pressure to do more of the successful but unappreciated segment of the main business.

Pros

Lots of freedom for creative and skilled IT professionals working on various projects, room for advancement and training. Working from home. Good work-life balance.

Cons

Confused business and project managers with little or no directions given to developers straggling with constantly changing requirements. Very hard to get job done often with lots of frustration, taking way much longer time than needed. Lots of incompetent bureaucrats and ever expanding bureaucracy. Slow in accepting new technologies.
