Pros

Do yourself a favor. Don’t join this company. That’s what someone should have told me when I was considering joining. I was lured by false promises of ‘great product’, ‘wonderful team’, ‘operational excellence’. Unfortunately, none of it was true. Dealskart / Lenskart / Valyoo is by a long shot one of the worst companies out there to work for. There are no Pros.

Cons

Note : A patient read is required. There is a long list of cons, which I understood while working there for about a year. Everything that can be possibly be wrong with an organization, here its put in practice. The organization hierarchy and roles/responsibilities change every 2-3weeks. I know of people who joined in operations, moved to tech, then to strategy, then to marketing, then to retail. So most days you wake up not knowing who your boss is, or what you are supposed to do. The HR will sell this as ‘multi-skilling’, but to me it is the very definition of chaos. The ‘warehouse’ in Okhla is in shambles. It smells, there is rot everywhere, people don’t get proper offices, no A/Cs, no coolers, no coffee vending machines. Thank god they are ‘allowed’ toilet breaks. That’s pretty much the only convenience you are entitled to. By contrast, the Vatika office gets all the perks. However, it comes with a catch. If you are seen smiling, it is automatically assumed that you have no work, and immediately someone will reprimand you. They have put a couple of Foozball tables, but if you are seen playing, your boss with heap you with an earful of tirades on some far fetched topic you aren’t even connected to. Forget your sense of freedom there, everyone is monitored and reprimanded at regular intervals. When you join an organization, one of reasons you do so, is to have a good career, where you add value to the organization and vice versa. This doesn’t exist in Lenskart. You don’t have KRAs/KPIs. There is no one to advice you or guide you through tough situations (of which there will be many). If you screw up, the blame solely rests with you. If you do good work, the praise solely goes to the bosses. Lastly, a note about the founders and the top management. There have been 15+ top level exits in the last 1 year alone. Most of them may be attributed to the way the founders conduct themselves. Its damn frustrating to work with them. They are the ‘know it all’ kinds who think they can do a much better job than you anyday. And they make sure to let you know it. They call for meetings at 5AM, 10PM, On Sundays (yes, you read this right), basically whenever their mood desires. The sole purpose of these meetings is to humiliate you, and prove that they are right at every count. And if you don’t attend, you are immediately judged as not a team player. I think their ego has swollen to such an extent that they see employees as slaves and nothing more. I could go on here, but the less is said, the better it is. And I am sure you get the drift anyways.

Pros

Zero. Zilch. Nada. Nothing. Null. Honestly, nothing that i can think of. Please don't get mislead by the positive (3star+ reviews). These are mostly 'planted' by the Lenskart management.

Cons

1. The founders don't value the employees or the skills that they bring to the company. Every employee is disposable and treated as a cost and categorized as high cost/disposable, low cost/retainable. 90% of the employees fall in the former. 2. There is no concept of building a synergistic team. People are encouraged by the senior management to pick fights with colleagues, bad mouth and argue. 3. The facts and figures are what the founders believe them to be. The data is what the founders say it is. Individual opinion does not matter. 4. There is no Culture. If you call shouting, abusing, getting frustrated and taking it out on the team, short sightedness, a lack of vision (pun intended), zero engagement, infighting, little motivation, bad bosses and a stifling atmosphere culture, well then, there is plenty of it. 5. The 2 side founders, and the senior management will do anything to protect their backside. Even if it means throwing you under the bus to protect their backsides. Be prepared for it. 6. The team is young. That is great. And also immature. That is not so great. 7. The HR is non existent. All they do is make new policies everyday. With little thought for implementation. I could go on, but there are not enough words to describe the horror and misery that is working at lenskart/dealskart.

Pros

If you are not reporting to the Online Product and Business Head, You are good.

Cons

Toxic Leadership: The product and business head fosters a negative work environment. Shouting during meetings, demanding weekend work, and micromanagement are common practices. This leader blames team members for failures while taking little to no responsibility. Favoritism and Lack of Transparency: Concerns exist about favoritism towards a specific female team member. Additionally, the leader has a tendency to twist facts to fit their narrative. Limited Product Focus: The primary focus seems to be on design elements, potentially neglecting other crucial aspects of product development. High Turnover: Several team members have left within a short period (2 months) suggesting a significant issue with the work environment.
