Pros

Nice people, exciting projects, exposure to a multitude of health care industry segments and issues. Very valuable resume builder due to accelerated health care knowledge development, and LP's reputation in the market.

Cons

While leadership is comprised of well-intentioned, competent people, there's a significant disconnect between leadership/decision-makers and the "frontlines." The firm tends to look externally rather than promoting from within. (Again, this may be due to the disconnect between hiring/HR and the actual work.) Ultimately, the firm tends to undervalue its consultant and researcher employees, paying well below industry averages and being slow to promote (i.e., raises and/or title advancements) SMEs and high performers. I know that this frustration is shared by many employees. Some have left because of it.

Pros

There can be a degree of flexibility on the way that you spend your time and working from home/time off. Although while there is a superficial flexibility, there can be a stigma against working from home. There is a great exposure to some first class health care companies.

Cons

The pay and career progression is severely lacking. Also the sensitivity/commitment to diversity is also abysmal. There are superficial efforts to hire minorities, but once diversity joins rank and file they just are content with them on the roster. Boys Club mentality is also strong at Leavitt Partners.

Pros

A good team and the company is growing quite a bit. The leaders are incredible.

Cons

Not all of my talents are completely utilized and I'd like to contribute more, but I don't have a way to do that. I would also like more/better training.
