Pros

Many locations, close and quick to get to.

Cons

Very rude management, they have some sort of superiority complex and obviously look down on other staff members. Dont listen to days you can and cant work. Also dont care about the subjects that you have picked to teach. Had to teach gcse english after saying multiple times that i cant do it. So basically they give you a choice and dont care about what you have to say. Didnt get a single break in between shifts. Not enough recources for each session(whiteboards). Absolutely horrible pay. Definitely not worth for the amount of work youre doing

Pros

ive been working at southall for nearly a year. everyone is quite nice and is of a similar age group so its easy to talk to people and you can tell everyone puts effort into their work. its nice that the students get books so you can just teach a topic from there without having to pull up extra resources, but you can also email for printing -zero hour contract which works if youre a student so hours are flexible to you but it can be hard to get shifts

Cons

-you do a lot to get paid very little. everyones on minimum wage except for people higher up but even then its probs not even that much of a difference lmao -the contract is VERY sketchy, very red flag in my opinion. you are "self employed" rather than an employee so they pay less tax as a company but also means you get less rights as a worker, theres no holiday or sick pay or any real benefits -group sessions and 1-1 sessions get paid the same amount which is silly -theres no training when it comes to handling those with learning disabilities and youre just expected to deal with it despite them advertising training -whoever does the pay is genuinely terrible at their job because they constantly miss out on several hours and means you could be getting paid up to £100 less and they roll it onto the next month but even then it can sometimes not be fixed so it rolls on for agesss -if youre older its prob harder to get a shift because they give shifts more to younger workers so they pay them less -good if you want progression into education also looks good on cv
