employee discount, getting to help customers find gifts, getting to wrap presents, getting to be creative
Cons
low pay, owner/corporate do not seem to care about actual educational toys. it was more important to sell squishmallows and slime and mario and spider man stuff than to find books, puzzles, and early childhood education related items.
Good first job for high schoolers. Flexible hours for the first few months, then they start to take advantage. Good with vacation requests as long as they're given a notice ahead of time. Fun toys to play with and good to see what's trending.
Cons
Prefer adult workers but pay them like high schoolers. No room for growth. Is always criticizing. Always ridiculed, never given props for the work we DO do. Owner takes anger of other situations out onto employees. Doesn't know how to control her language. Management says things that are extremely offensive and hurtful and makes you feel less. Constantly telling us we're replaceable and calling us terrible workers does not motivate us to do better. People have quit due to the management in this establishment. It's outrageously unprofessional and messy. Doesn't take into consideration your availability nor your feelings. They expect you to be on call 24/7 and don't care about your personal prior obligations other than school. Expects you to cater to every one of their single needs. Wants you to be slaves. Expects you to do more work without more pay. Do not recommend. Highly bias and a little racist. Working here was a mistake. It's very taxing on your mental health. I shouldn't walk into a toy store and immediately hate my life, it's supposed to be a happy place. It's not...
