Pros

A small branding agency that takes care of its employees (free great coffee, snacks in the kitchen, frequent events and parties) and does good work.

Cons

Long hours, at times. Compensation isn't stellar. A little militaristic about being in at 8:30 on the dot and not leaving early or taking long lunches. Principles can be a bit absent, not coming in for days at a time and rarely contributing on projects.

Pros

The three ad executives are savvy, smart, and kind. It is a small but powerful ad agency with creative geniuses. I loved the small family feel and the non-corporate way of doing things. They treat their employees well.

Cons

The only con for me personally was commuting. That isn't anything on the agency, of course.

Pros

It's a small shop (currently hovering a little under 15 people), which offers a few big advantages. Namely, little-to-no bureaucracy, a direct line to both agency and client decision-makers and a chance to flex those entrepreneurial muscles and put your stamp on the place. Also, for such a small shop, they have had quite a few national-level clients. I think this has a lot to do with the caliber of the work they've done, not to mention partners who are well-connected in the industry. There are very few super-late nights or weekends unless you're in the middle of a pitch. Finally, they have cultivated a family-like atmosphere, with zero political BS and a great sense of camaraderie.

Cons

As a smaller agency, Launch sometimes gets passed over in bigger client pitches. You also have to be comfortable with wearing a lot of different hats, as they don't have the resources of a larger agency (of course, this does give you some unexpected opportunities to grow). There are definitely periods of feast and famine with the work, so you have to be prepared for the occasional bursts of craziness and be on top of your time management. And they are located in the suburbs, so if you need to be surrounded by urban funk to stay inspired, you won't find it here.

Thank you so much for your thoughtful words! Your reflections mean a lot, and are helpful for us. BTW, we did move to Uptown, so we're a tiny bit funkier now LOL. Take care!
