Pros

It's a good resume builder, when they show you the door (turnover is high, expect to last about a year) recruiters and hiring managers will know the hell you went through at Clement Pappas and will assume you can deal with pretty much anything. You''l land at a better job with higher pay.

Cons

Where do I start? It was a family owned company and after the sale to Lassonde, it became a publicly (Canadian) traded company. If you've been through an acquisition before, you know there is some "trimming of the fat", but this place is insane right now. Since 2013, more that 100 managers, sales people, executives and office staff have been let go, quit, or forced into early retirement out of a company of 400 people nationwide. From the top down, it is a cutthroat environment and there is usually a line outside the HR door on Fridays with people getting terminated. Don't believe me? Ask around. The first thing they did was have us take all kinds of employee satisfaction surveys to bolster their Net Promoter score to attract talent from other companies. Once they hit a satisfactory number, heads began to roll and it has been a constant revolving door of people for the past 16 months. If you get hired here, expect to be paid 15% to 20% LESS than the person you're replacing. Look, juice is a stagnant category and the only way the company can realize profits is by squeezing from the inside. So if you love instability, chaos, mis-direction and political BS, this is the place for you!

I want to thank you for taking the time to provide us with your rating and review. As you mention, periods of transition within an organization can often be difficult and we are sorry that you had this experience. Rest assured though, that our continued focus on customers, quality, innovation, and employee development are what make us great. Thanks again for your feedback

Pros

Employees get really into Halloween by dressing up and decorating

Cons

Watch out if you join here. Everyone is leaving for a reason. The U.S. CEO has very poor leadership abilities. He manages by fear and gives unrealistic timelines for turning around work. He lacks people skills and is highly judgmental if you do not fit the mold he looking for (look, weight, age, etc). There are others in leadership that also lack people skills and contribute to the poor culture.

Thank-you for taking the time to give me your feedback. Although tough to hear, it is appreciated and will ultimately help make me a better leader and more importantly, Lassonde Pappas a great place to work. Once of the first things I did three years ago when I started was to really focus the organization on identifying and driving the key results for the business. As you recall, the leadership team landed early on five specific results: 1) Grow our volume; 2) Over-deliver on customer expectations; 3) Increase profitability; 4) Prepare for long term growth and; 5) Make Lassonde Pappas a great place to work by focusing on employee engagement. Someone asked me at one of our monthly town hall a few weeks ago “what my biggest accomplishment has been so far as CEO” and I immediately responded that the measurable progress we have made in driving employee engagement (from 52% engaged in 2014 to almost 82% engaged in 2016) was by far my biggest source of pride. That is why your feedback, and also your experience at LPC doesn’t align with what we have heard in the various feedback sessions from hundreds of employees across the country. We continue to listen to our employees, who have given us a “thumbs up” to engagement initiatives like jeans every day, transparent town halls, CEO breakfasts, summer flex Fridays, more robust performance reviews, individual development plans and other engagement activities. We were also just notified in January that Lassonde Pappas is a finalist for “Philly’s Top Places to Work“ which also suggests our initiatives are resonating with our employees. Having said that… we have also received “thumbs down” feedback on things like role clarity, pace of change and overall balancing of workload. These areas specifically are part of our 2017 plans to try and address. All of the above is just noise…as YOUR experience here was not a positive one. For that, I sincerely apologize and once again thank-you for the feedback. It shows that you care for your former colleagues and are doing your part to help make Lassonde Pappas a great (better) place to work. Message received.

Pros

Made great friends as misery loves company!

Cons

Don't expect to be treated with respect or that your years of experience and expertise in your field actually mean something. Unless you're fresh out of college and praise senior management, especially the CEO, don't even waste your time. They have zero sympathy or empathy towards anything real rather they want you to continue to say that it's a great place to work.
