Pros

People. You meet some really great people at Landor. I consider more than a few my family at this point. The Landor name will get you out to where you need to be in life. Living wage, respect, trust in your work, etc. Too bad Landor has no clue how to harness it. They get the talent, but can't keep it. But even that is fading now. When you're unable to even keep prospective interns from laughing in your face at the pay offering, it might be time to hang up your hat.

Cons

Oh god. Management. Please someone hire a single qualified soul. Please someone help management learn how to do what we do, not just talk about it in vague buzzwordy generalities. Please stop the p3nis measuring with the Silicon Valley clients. We're not big data. We don't even have a research department anymore. You let them all walk away, remember?

Pros

Used to be a good credential to have on your resume. Used to be.

Cons

Leadership is the worst money can buy. Dinosaurs. Short-term thinkers. Brown-nosers and politicians. Only focused on the ever-sinking financials, and how to shore things up for their individual political gain. No authority to do what should be done to turn this ship around. So far behind now in terms of thinking, competencies, talent, and competitiveness, it's time to scuttle the boat. No digital or social media competency. No research capability or POV to speak of. Weak strategic thinking, methodologies, tools and frameworks. Now promoting "agile" brands - the soup du jour. More meaningless nonsense as cosmetic ground cover. Current and prospective clients should be forewarned - no value here, particularly for their over-priced services. New talent beware - you are wasting your time for low wages and no career path. Landor is a "paper plate" sweatshop - use you, and then toss you out. Don't be fooled by their brand. Trending down and out.

Clever People But Bad Design

Pros

The strategy department is full of some very impressive minds and craft some brilliant creative thinking. The account team are very hard working, have a great culture and strong relationship with strategy. The processes are very thorough and well thought out. You get the chance to work on a diverse range of corporate clients and projects.

Cons

The creative department (if you could call them that) are the worst I've come across in the industry. They're lazy, slow and aren't even very good at design. I could do better. They constatly require hand holding, can't take ciriticism and think they're more important than they are. None of the senior managment are particularly inspiring and all leave at 6 on the dot, despite expecting the rest of us to work late. Pay is pretty poor in comparison to the rest of the industry.
