Pros

There are some good people who work there- supportive, professional and mature

Cons

Promotions within the company are rare. If you get one, it's due to politics. Otherwise, management would rather bring in someone new, manipulate them and mold them into the person they want. This leads to high turnover and losing all the truly good people (talent and work ethic). There is no onsite HR. The work environment is full of politics, cliques and employees who get a high off of coming to work and spreading gossip. It truly creates a toxic place. To make things worse, these behaviors are seen from some Directors and Supervisors. I truly hope when Laird is sold and under new ownership, the new Board will be able to see right through these people, and tell who is toxic and who is truly genuine. That place needs some serious restructuring, as it is sinking incredibly fast!

Pros

Good technology, good technical experience, flexible managers, ,

Cons

Incompetent HR. Very weak new upper management. Promotions are based on relationships not performance or qualifications. Bonus distribution is not fair and does not make sense. Promises to adjust salaries extend over years and never materialize. No clear vision. Bad culture, weak ethics especially at the senior management level.

Pros

Some very nice people working for them. a lot of folks who probably care more than management does. They deserve better leadership.

Cons

Company just simply can't wait to ship every last job off to some miserable third world country, producing product of inferior quality and wondering why they continue to lose market share. Penny wise and pound foolish. Company is too much of an old-boys club. There are the right cliques and everyone else is just kind of there.
