Pros

LAD has a vibrant socialite culture, great party vibes and they fly staff to Sydney for Christmas party and such if you are living in APAC. Event committees made lockdown a blast with weekly social zoom gatherings. You get some cute merch and cupcakes when you join, they’re very welcoming. Good laptop was supplied. LAD are very supportive of staff experiencing grief and loss in their personal life. Great for somebody starting out in social media keen to learn the basics. A lot of creative freedom and openness to new creative ideas.

Cons

It took longer than expected to organise my contract which was nervewracking - especially as I was asked to start without signing and was assured the contract was days away. Nevertheless the contract was sorted 5 weeks into the role and I had to be backpaid. Future pay was also sporadically late. Line managers were disinterested in career progression. Frequently pushing / skipping 1:1’s was common. Promotions are limited to “1 person per team per year”, the exception to this rule appeared to be based on nepotism or proximity to department heads. It can be hard to break into the LAD cliques if you are not working in a main market (Sydney/London). If you are not included in certain cliques you can expect a small degree of bullying and intimidation from those who are. I was told to not expect any progression opportunities and that the socialite culture and flights were something I should hold in higher value than meaningful career growth. LAD sadly left a very sour taste despite appearing on the outside to be a great opportunity.

Pros

Office is nice (undesirable location unless you live in east London) Some decent incentives in the office

Cons

I wouldn’t know where to begin. I just hope that anyone considering working here takes the time to read the Glassdoor reviews first. The culture is driven by ego rather than teamwork, with a number of people in senior roles whose behaviour falls far short of the professionalism and leadership they should be setting. It’s a toxic, high control environment with little trust or respect for employees. Genuine collaboration is replaced by blame and posturing, and feedback is rarely welcomed. Flexibility is non-existent, and there’s very little understanding or support for anyone with family commitments or a life outside of work. On the surface, it promises opportunity, but behind the scenes, the culture is draining and unsustainable. It's funny some people have left feedback that this is a good name to have on your CV - since leaving I found it to be the opposite.
