Pros

Excellent on the ground work. Fulfilling work with young people. Work from home

Cons

Management have been repeatedly informed of the destructive nature of the systemic failings at Kooth. The turn over is ridiculously high with the very best and experienced staff leaving in droves and a constant battle to retrain new workers admin chaotic policy changes. KPIs and disorganisation in terms of absence/holiday allocation means staff are stressed, anxious and frightened of the word “capability” being thrown at them. There most definitely IS a blame culture! Communication is monitored on ALL platforms and used against workers out of context. Failings in training, technology and policy land squarely at the feet of front line workers who carry this responsibility along with ENORMOUS levels of risk and complex safeguarding (YES! Kooth IS a crisis service!). Target driven delivery is simply not appropriate when working with vulnerable people. End of. Onus very much on workers to “look after your mental health” but other than a dubious support line (manned by ex kooth staff!!) mental health is treated by HR with skepticism and disregard. Very ironic. A lot of the work on the ground is great and has the best interest of vulnerable humans at its heart but I can say, with no animosity or vendetta, that Kooth has lost its way. Profit and expansion has pushed out compassion and care. It’s devastating as I truly loved the company it once was.

Pros

There are some amazing people who work at Kooth, who care about helping the lives of others and no matter where they sat within Kooth their mission for being there was very clear. For those who were under senior management and anyone who I had a bond with echoed this. Remote working, good holiday and benefits and lots of emphasis around raising awareness for D&I around open groups including the EVG.

Cons

Whilst the company has done all of the above it's really not the case at grass roots level, in fact, it's utter hypocrisy. The reviews on this page about the toxic behaviours of the Senior Management are very accurate. There is a a very toxic culture which derives from senior management which really doesn't align with what Kooth delivers. This wasn't the case when I joined but as a result of changes within management. The turn over speaks volumes.

Pros

I joined Kooth over 3 years ago and it was a fantastic place to work. Unfortunately, due to the sheer amount of people that have left recently, that is no longer the case. There is no management structure, no routes for progression, no care or consideration for staff and no communication. The turnover of staff is ridiculously high it is impossible to make meaningful relationships with colleagues. Pay is not competitive and there is no clear pay scale - when I resigned my role was advertised for over £6000 more than I was receiving. Kooth has some fantastic people working at the company, unfortunately they are leaving due to the working conditions at the company

Cons

No management structure High turnover of staff No pay structure No opportunities for progression No CPD opportunities No communication
