Pros

The only and I mean ONLY good thing is the pay.

Cons

This company doesn't care about its employees in the least bit, supervisors will screw you over and throw you under the bus to make themselves look better, then they will retaliate if you dare speak up. The jobs are all based on you the supervisor is friends with, they will take thier friend and give them a job you are doing and send you to do the harder/dirtier/worse job that thier friend didn't want to do. HR is a joke completely screws people over "loses vacation slips, loses transfer papers, loses trading days paperwork" this happens all the time. The company will straight up bold face lie to new hires telling them they are going to get this great schedule 3 on 2 off 2 on 3 off, with every other weekend off, WHAT THEY DONT TELL YOU is new people don't get this schedule for about a year, new people will work 5 or 6 days a week and every weekend. The schedule person BRAGGED ABOUT IT, in my orientation he said he gives all the new people every day he can and force them to work 16 hours as much as he can because they will either be a good employee or quit. That's part of the reason the turnover is so high, management is completely inept and disconnected from the floor, so they don't care or even listen to employees. The union has been corrupted to the point where it doesn't help employees at all. The jobs themselves are ok but there is no real training they show you briefly then say ok you figure it out, bad supervisors are constantly threatening people's jobs instead of helping. Knauf in shelbyville is the single worst factory I have ever heard of let alone worked at. Noone is happy here they constantly change things around and just place the blame on the next person, this ALWAYS ends up landing on someone new that has no clue what happened yet they still have to take the brunt of it because nothing can EVER be management's fault, and they can never be wrong. I'm only still here because I haven't found better pay YET. THIS IS NOT A CAREER ITS BARELY GOOD ENOUGH FOR A STEPPING STONE. THIS PLACE WILL TORTURE YOU MENTALLY AND PHYSICALLY AND THEN BLAME YOU WHEN SOMETHING GOES WRONG. AVOID KNAUF AT ALL COSTS, INFACT ALSO DO NOT BUY THIER PRODUCTS.

Pros

Salary package & fringe benefits. Multicultural company. Top notch facilities.

Cons

Dehumanized and fake smiling managers who belittle and treat their employees without respect. Preferential treatment. No one really cares or values the employees at the executive level. Some positive encouragement from the management from time to time would have been appreciated, it costs nothing and boosts people up. Micro management pushed to the extreme. Strong lack of team spirit accross departments.
