      disappointing place to work

      Pros

      As the former GMI the school is in the top ten for engineering and known world wide. The benefit package is great. Allotted time off is another perk.

      Cons

      Wages are poor and way below national average for position. Too much micromanaging by upper management. Those who work and dedicate themselves to the institute are not rewarded. Very poor communication and leadership. Those who don't work to their potential are not disciplined. No follow though with upper management with issues or concerns.

      Pros

      The new university president has made really great progress in turning the university around. -University is trying to be a partner in the revitalization of Flint. -Most recent hires are great to work with. -New college organizational structure may help - too soon to tell. -Many facilities have been nicely renovated.

      Cons

      -Honors program roll out was terrible. -Some employees hired 5 or more years ago are nearly useless. This causes some of the academic departments to be completely dysfunctional. -Salaries are a bit low. -High research expectations with high teaching demands and low research support.

      Pros

      Visionary Leadership, Fantastic President, great atmosphere and opportunities. This place is about taking it to the next level. STEM is where the jobs are and Kettering is training the next great leaders.

      Cons

      Wish there were more food options on campus
