Pros

What can i say i was there through hard times and good times and ive seen this company grow from 9 employees to 50+ so obviously they are doing something very right. So much good talent has walked out thru those doors ,but only after figuring out what their talent is at this amazing company. Its like you had your own tailored experience and sky was the limit when it came to be as creative as you liked and be exposed to new skills , which you wont find anywhere else. That goes back to dealing with difficult situations ,as we know when you walk out thru the door you see that not all the jobs have unlimited budgets and you get all the toys you need , but that’s another skill in itself .. to improvise and make do with what you got. Just put it this way .. went there with hardly any skills but walked out highly skilled and most important very employable. Therefore i thank them for the fond memories and being part of it all.

Cons

I had to fill this bit in, but to be honest i dont have any cons as hard decisions had to be made pretty much every step of the way and i wasn’t the one that had to make them, so i think every decision that has been made has been made for the greater good. They really care about their employees and they make everyone feel like they belong and listened to.

Pros

I worked at Spectrecom for several years making high quality films that I was proud to be involved with, and many projects that took me to different parts of the world – there are some great opportunities here if you have ambition. Every member of the team is professional and supportive and there's a real family vibe that’s experienced right across the company. Spectrecom allowed me the opportunity to broaden my career opportunities and increase my knowledge and application of practical filmmaking. I found myself progressing very quickly from camera assist to camera operator, and in later years I directed a number of projects, which later went on to win industry awards. I suspect there are very few other production companies around that would afford that level of experience so early in a person’s career. Myself and many of my colleagues at Spectrecom have now gone on to enjoy successful freelance careers, and it's doubtful that we’d have the same opportunities in the industry today without having first built up skills, knowledge, experience and contacts during time spent at Spectrecom. Contrary to what some other reviewers have said on here, the management team actually care about its staff, having introduced lieu hours, which is rare in our industry, and introducing the living wage 5 years before it became a legal requirement. In recent times there has also been investment in a brand new van, camera equipment and editing facilities, meaning that Spectrecom can continue producing excellent work without the worry of kit failing or the van breaking down (which has happened before a number of times), all very important things to consider when working to deadlines. The company culture strikes a good balance between being friendly, professional and ambitious, meaning that Spectrecom will continue to be a good choice for anyone considering working with them in future.

Cons

There have at times been delays in freelancers being paid on time, and as a freelancer myself I know how frustrating that can be. However, I completed a freelance job recently for Spectrecom and payment was met on time within my payment terms. The company has grown exponentially in the past few years, and this accelerated growth has meant that from time to time there have been break-downs in communication, leading to mistakes being made on projects. However, in my experience the management team have been responsive to difficulties experienced on projects, and work together to ensure that problems are immediately addressed and working processes constantly reviewed and updated

Pros

- The company likes to promote from within where possible - There's a proper management structure in place so you can see where you're aiming for - It is possible to change departments with the company's support if you decide you want to change the direction of your career - My manager always looked out for their team, so I didn't feel isolated within my work - Hours off in lieu - never had that before

Cons

- I did have to work on some tedious projects, but on the other hand I also got some awesome ones.
