Pros
There are a lot of cool people that work there. I got a lot of really good training. Other than that I can’t think of a single positive thing about working there.
Cons
Corporate is a bunch of bullies and lunatics. They severely restrict self expression in basically any form. The academy directors and upper management are some of the fakest people I’ve ever met and the educators were always biased towards whoever is pretty and mean like them. This place is not a positive place to grow as a stylist as they are essentially running a Kenneths stylist factory. They want everyone to follow the same script and act the same, they want their employees to hide away who they truly are so they can continue to profit off of being “such a professional company”. They are not constructive whatsoever in their criticism and the educators would literally gossip about their students WITH OTHER STUDENTS. They are not afraid to tell you to your face that you don’t look pretty today or that you should be wearing makeup or work your hair different. One specific day I cried my makeup off at work, and then got written down in the afternoon for “being out of dress code” since my makeup had washed away with my tears. Even though I told them I had cried it off, they still reprimanded me for it. All around an awful experience, this job made me suicidal. Don’t do it.
