Pros

Some of the people at Juniper are really great. I know some of the relationships I formed will last a lifetime. Especially on the partner side, you will encounter some really great people.

Cons

Juniper has failed to pay out commission fairly to employees for over 2 years. The tool to understand what each deal is worth does not work and there is no plan in place to fix it. The staff members responsible for said tool have since quit the company. No questions about pay ever got answered during my 2.5 years at Juniper. I waited 6 months and longer for commission checks due to shipping delays and was still denied full correct payouts. Another example of unfair pay was witnessed while gapping a territory. I was promised to receive commission on worked deals for a territory that was lacking a rep temporarily, never came through. Another example of losing out on pay is the changing of accounts. There is constant change in account ownership and you will have to spend time tracking down deals you already worked and closed to ensure your owed payout. It is almost guaranteed it will be incorrect and you will feel like you had money stolen from you. Finally, the sales department does not support any title, pay, or role change. You will stay in the same position for over a year with no change. Your work load will increase but your pay will not. I do not recommend working at Juniper Networks in the sales department until majors changes have been made.

Pros

If you are in the good books of manager you will get stock refreshes (check cons also for this ) Culture is okayish Flexibility to work any timings Not bad base increments. Nice private cubicles

Cons

Layoffs Company is getting beaten by everyone. The only reason they are surviving is because customers do not want monopoly of other companies No focus on innovation. Middle management nods along when told by higher management about focus on innovation and ridicules them afterwards. Zero efforts from staffs to innovate or improve. Just keep doing the same stuff over and over again. Stock never performs They do not miss any chance to give bad hikes. Management is just looking for reasons to declare no or zero hikes Millions of dollars are spent on programs and are shelved at the end. Impact is not born by that team [Rather gets promoted for failure] but everyone else who worked on projects that made millions. Bad quality of work. Won’t add much value to your resume Managers never discuss about personal goals. Neither do they care about it Stock refreshes are absolutely terrible. Simply peanuts. And are received by only 10% of team so you don’t even fight for it. Women/men ratio is mind boggling. Not an equal opportunity employer for sure. Staffs grow faster than SE’s. It’s unbelievable and true To get promotion from SE3 to SE4 you are expected to deliver staff level work. SE4 to staff expectation is not clear to even Rami. They probably need gods to come and work for them.
