I have been working at Intuit full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

I’ve worked at many companies—tech and non-tech—and I can honestly say that Intuit is the best place I’ve ever worked. The emphasis on values is palpable. These are not just nice phrases that look good on a poster in the break room. The Intuit values drive behavior at all levels of the company. This is a place where culture and craft walk hand-in-hand. Training for people managers emphasizes coaching, mentoring, and helping employees grow in ways that have meaning for them and for their own career aspirations. In the Design Organization (interaction, visual, content, and research), mobility moves are supported as a way to help employees learn and grow, and mentoring is often used as a way to overcome craft or performance gaps. The content organization in particular is vibrant, collaborative, and self-driven. Challenging work and customer problems are met with high-functioning and sophisticated content design thinking from a talented group of writers and design professionals. And in this time of COVID-19., leadership is taking to care to keep employee’s safe and supported, while keeping the company moving forward to reposition it for the future. I’ve never been prouder to work for this company.

    Cons

Like all companies, some teams are more collaborative than others, and it can be frustrating for someone to move from a well-functioning team to one that is less so. There is also an expectation that you are in charge of your own destiny. Your manager is there to help you, but you hold the reins—this isn’t everyone’s cup of tea.
