Pros

Everything seemed great when I started. Had a couple perks for employees, seemed to be headed in the right direction.

Cons

Lays off constantly, does take work like balance into consideration, bad decision making, terrible leadership, let's extremely bad, immoral behavior go on for years, does not listen to employees....

Pros

A lot of autonomy in terms of being able to plan ones own day and do what needs getting done.

Cons

Management doesn't really know what to do, as a result project scopes can change 2-3 times on a daily basis up to the end of a project. Most managers onsite don't have an education past high school. That includes the top person running the site. As a result, an educated approach to problem solving is seriously lacking. Instead of reasoning through a problem, tribal knowledge based on the past 30 years of operation is relied upon. The predominant management style is based upon intimidation and bullying. One outspoken individual I knew there was targeted by management which bid their time and fired him for a safety violation that many others had been given a pass on breaking in the past. Some of the ugliest people I have ever met have made a career at Intrepid. I saw the entire engineering department turn over in two years, from the Chief Engineer to Interns, everybody left. Be careful in what they promise you. Get everything in writing before committing to giving two weeks at your current employer. I was aware of an individual who was promised a Senior position in purchasing. Two days before his relocation the paperwork came in for a lower level position. Surprise, the senior position had been cancelled. His current employer had already replaced him so he was stuck. He gave Intrepid a year to make it right. They never did so he left.

Pros

Excellent pay, plenty of work, lots of unnecessary overtime. No real expectations of performance for maintenance. Most of the supervisors are someone's kid or buddy so they couldn't verify if you did your job or not even if they were looking over your shoulder. No corporate oversight and you can steal all you want. Why not management is. I'm just glad I'm not a stockholder

Cons

The company is going broke. Laid off over 309 employees all based on age. So they can look forward some expensive lawsuits.
