      great working environment- literally you'll live in a paradise! Relatively high salary for mid-managers low cost of living

      Cons

      Very political senior management The bosses are motivated by their own agenda instead of helping their staff to succeed no room for growth as there is no succession planning for staff

      Pros

      Great place to work with nice Salaries. Opportunities to travel and learn on the ground.

      Cons

      In most cases, you can't go up the ladder if you don't have a godfather inside. Less respect for you if you are from Asia. HR makes unequal treatment.

      Pros

      Place to mingle with the leading scientists in rice research as well as a multi-cultural organization that allows you to work with people from other countries. IRRI conducts several trainings each month from statistics to lab training so there are plenty of opportunities for personal growth. Provides gym, badminton courts, football field for after work exercise. Has strong employee organizations as well.

      Cons

      Not much chance for career advancement for locally hired employees and salary is not as competitive as other private companies.
