Pros
Depending on the technology group you work in, OT is highly encouraged. 4-3, 3-4 work weeks with 12 hour shifts so you get a nice amount of built in OT. There are a lot of talented individuals in the ranks and most are willing share their knowledge if you know how to ask.
Cons
Required to take up to 4 days PTO per quarter due to lower than expected profits. Employees with less than 15 years at this company do not earn PTO fast enough to build a meaningful balance which would afford them the ability to take a real vacation. Raises are limited to your annual review cycle and some of the managers seem to feel like the money comes directly out of their pockets. Make sure any promise of a raise or promotion is in writing prior to acceptance, or you will never see it. Bonuses. First year with IR, objectives were met four quarters in a row. Next couple of years, no payouts to technicians, yet others in management were still rewarded, even though goals were not met. There is a new plan in place for this year so it could improve. Do not expect to move up. This site is all about who you know. If you haven't worked with someone in the inner circle before, you are very limited on ability to move up, even with 4-5 star revaluations and higher education. If you are a motivated and driven worker, you will be irritated by laziness and incompetence, especially with the way it is tolerated because an employee has "worked here forever". There has got to be a warehouse full of skeletons somewhere.....
