Pros

The office has big windows

Cons

The office is made up of four departments run by four managers and four directors. The directors/founders of IDI could be accused of being racist; they poke fun at foreign applications and I've even witnessed them running a competition for the worst art work submitted (which applicants put forward to be considered a place on the course). I worked alongside some foreign employees who were great people and excellent at their job, yet the two male directors would laugh at their accents and conveniently forgot their names, so would call them offensive and outrageously wrong names instead!!!. They treated them like they were performing monkeys and held in their laughter if any of them ever put forward their views in meetings or showed any signs of intelligence. The "managers" are really ridiculous, they thrive on intimidation which would be non-existent if their parents weren't the directors of the business. They are extremely petty, have no idea what they are doing and go into meetings for full days where you hear them roaring with laughter and staring at you, while blatantly talking about you through the glass windows of their meeting rooms, like classroom bullies. There are many reasons not to work here. But these points alone should convince and warn you not to submit an application or send your cv to work here. Go to an interview, but when you leave expect to be ridiculed. Even if you are offered a job, be prepared to lose it at any time and do not expect to be paid on a particular date every month. It's as simple as, if students don't pay their tuition fees, you don't get paid.

Thank you for taking the time to complete your review, we appreciate your feedback and advice to management. We also enjoy the big windows in the office – it’s a lovely spot to be. Regarding the concerns you raised about the treatment of employees and the management team, we’re sorry to hear that you had this experience. We are very proud of our Managers and invest a lot in their personal and professional development. We also encourage a culture that is welcoming to people from all walks of life and this applies to IDI employees, as well as our students. I would encourage you to get in touch with me directly to discuss these matters further (arlene.stewart@idesigni.co.uk).

Beware the false 5 star reviews...

Pros

Musselburgh is quite pretty. The Italian restaurant in the square outside sells alcohol. You may need to pop in after your first day...

Cons

Read the 'real' reviews below and then the 5 star ones. As pieces of false propaganda they fail as they are clearly written by the management.

Pros

Not much. Some nice people work for the company

Cons

A culture of fear. Company has no values and is corrupt, there is a lot of information hoarding, and management push for long hours, and really don't care about employees, or customers, a lot of scams, and middle management will often create situations to hide their inadequacy.

Thank you for taking the time to complete a review of your experience at IDI. Sorry to hear that you had a negative experience. We agree that there are some pretty amazing people in the IDI team. Part of what makes the team so great is our common purpose and the fact that everyone cares about the student experience and making it as good as it can be. We have recently implemented some flexible working arrangements so that our employees can find the hours that work best for them. I would encourage you to get in touch with me directly to discuss your comments regarding information hoarding and scams so that these can be addressed appropriately (arlene.stewart@idesigni.co.uk).
