By far the worst place I have ever worked

Pros

What are the pros? It's not like there are ZERO of them, though the cons heavily outweigh the pros. For starters, the average salary is a bit higher than what the supposed average salary of Hong Kong graduates is, which is supposed to be only $14k. What else? The office is fairly new, clean, modern design, and you have a nice view. It's fairly close to the MTR so you won't have to walk too far in order to get there. Thirdly, if you don't speak any Chinese at all (which is quite odd if you are living in Hong Kong; why live here otherwise?) this is one of the few places in town where you can get a job purely just speaking English. Finally, the last pro I can think of is that the firm has spent quite a bit of money on software/hardware/resources, so you shouldn't have too many resource based hurdles to do your job.

Cons

As mentioned, this is by far the worst place I've ever had the misfortunate of working at. The problem largely stems from the organization itself and its management. The biggest problem is the fact that the company obscures a lot of detail about itself. Investors beware: this is a true black box of a company, and I would not take anything it says at face value. Firstly, the work life balance is extremely bad. Though the firm hires a lot, a lot of people quit for better opportunities and a lot of people get fired, so hiring is frequently just to replace the outflow. This is largely a function of management. Secondly, the work I participated in I felt was poor quality and not value adding. IMS is fundamentally a digital marketing firm, but the business model is such that if potential clients can't afford to pay for digital marketing service, IMS is willing to do work for a slice of the equity, and boom, it is also part "VC" firm (the list of companies is available on the company website). The problem is the "portfolio" of companies managed is extremely poor, and the firm stretches to the maximum what is believable when pitching and selling these companies. As mentioned, the quality of work produced here is extremely bad. The firm is actually revenue generating/profit generating (I feel, I don't know for a fact), which makes this point all the more confusing. Several times we submitted work to clients which I felt truly embarrassed to submit, but somehow the company has clients. Another con is that this place is in the middle of nowhere. I don't think anyone wants to work here, and there are like zero lunch or dinner options. Considering OT is a prominent aspect of working here, this is kind of important. Finally, there are too many family and friend hires here, without it being disclosed to stakeholders. I could go on and on but I'd strongly caution people from working here.

Pros

Nice office, bean Bag Room, Coffee & Soft drink, no more

Cons

They Lack Humility :- Making them unapproachable and less likely to recognize the excellent performance of others. They Fail to Engage People’s Creative Sides :- Making people feel less inspired and underutilized. They Fail to Develop People’s Skills :- Underestimating people’s ability and potential. They Hire and Promote the Wrong People :- Favoring people who are more like them, instead of people more likely to excel. The Undervalue Diversity and Inclusion :- Failing to harness the power of the collective and the value of differences. They Fail to Share a Compelling Vision :- Robbing people of enthusiasm and purpose for their work. They are so mean and harsh. Even cut tolerate being late a min in morning/lunch time
