Pros

Well there aren't many... I've made some good friends. The nightmares of this place have created an eternal bond between us, much like the brotherhood experienced in war.

Cons

Management absolutely does not care about the wellbeing of the employees. Thats why they pay so little and force people into jobs they do not want. The universal excuse at this place is that non-profits will always pay less than for-profit... NOT true.

Pros

Co-workers are decent. Flexible schedule, time-off requests are never turned down. Bagels on Fridays.

Cons

The company is nonprofit so the salary is lower than similar jobs in the area. They've grown very quickly the past few years, so they're experiencing growing pains: Biologists are packed into an office like sardines, there is absolutely no privacy; management is extremely ineffective (scheduling of duties is unfair; hired too many new people so now work is spread very thinly or they'll task you to do remedial job assignments; having a hard time with employee morale, etc.), basically they are creating an environment no one wants to be a part of. In addition, upper level management and Study Directors are disconnected from the lab and have no clue about the technical aspects of the job, yet you are not allowed to voice an opinion or make simple judgement calls. Promotions are only in title, unless you get on the 'favorites' list you still have the same job functions regardless of how long you've been there.

Pros

Good experience if you have no other option.

Cons

I've never been more disrespected by a company in my life. I go to bed every night worried that my next reference check will be answered by a boss who hated me. I do not recommend working at this small company and if you are already working here DO NOT give 2 weeks notice, you'll regret it.
