Pros

It's a paycheck? It's a great industry but you won't make the money there. Work for a payment processing company that has long time invested employees.

Cons

Unstable, Micro-managed, a CEO who only cares about the money going into his offshore bank accounts. Don't be fooled it This is a degrading place to work the management micro-manages you rather than letting you be a professional and run your own business. The CEO only cares about taking the best deals for himself and sending his money offshore.

Thank you for your feedback. We appreciate any and all input on how we can become a better company, and we too believe the merchant services industry is ‘great,’ and potentially lucrative. We regret, however, that your experience at Instabill was anything but positive. Our sales staff are provided guidelines with ample assistance, particularly when starting at Instabill. Our sales staff are expected to make a certain amount of phone calls and answer live chat inquiries to leads and prospective merchants per day. Our most successful salespeople are those who meet their phone/live chat quotas. By doing this, the sales portion takes care of itself. We currently have a terrific staff and we are thrilled to report very high numbers at the end of Q2 and already a strong start to Q3. While we stand behind out practices, we are certainly proud of our ‘A+’ rating by the Better Business Bureau and our ‘A’ rating by CardPaymentOptions.com. Thank you again for your feedback. Terrible Place to work

Pros

Interesting businesses come through the door from all over the world.

Cons

The Owner is constantly changing the compensation plan in order to NOT pay his employees. Make sure you use your earned time before you provide your notice or they will not pay you for it. Poorly executed Gateway solutions provided for Clients. Employees are often left explaining why a Gateway has not been set up once a client has paid a set up fee and signed a contract. Office environment is not professional or pleasant. Management pits employees against one another and biased individuals are responsible for dividing up the leads. Churn and Burn environment from both a sales and a technical perspective. You are expected to work hours well past your scheduled time. The CEO is a womanizer.

Thank you for your feedback about your experience at Instabill. We appreciate any and all input on how we can become a better company, and regret that you feel your experience at Instabill was disappointing. In January 2015, we implemented an added incentive to our sales staff that would pay them biannual bonuses based on a percentage of their clients’ credit card and ACH sales turnover. We utilize several secure payment gateways and our technical support staff is making major upgrades to the Instabill gateway (read about it on ECS-World.com). Working in a sales environment can be competitive, but our office setting is loose but serious and supportive. A look at some of our videos on our YouTube page reflect this – members of our sales staff regularly participate in them. To take advantage of the incentives we offer, members of our sales staff often work past the 40 hours they are required – we leave it as a personal decision to do so. Thanks again for your feedback. Pros

There is not a single pro.

Cons

Terrible pay. Terrible benefits. Terrible ownership. I wish I could give zero stars. The CEO, Jason Field, is an abomination of a human being. He treats people like he owns them. He's constantly being sued by someone for fraud or sexual harassment. He likes to think highly of his intelligence, but he is one of the most oblivious people I have ever worked for. He micromanages all of the wrong things. The only reason he is still in business is because he was in the right place at the right time during the credit card processing boom in the mid 90s. His payment gateway is laughable. It is not up to 1995 security standards. He pays his technology staff in the low 40k range (at the high end), so he can't retain any employees that are actually any good. He is paranoid and disloyal. He has no concept of teamwork. He will take any opportunity to screw someone over to either save a dollar or to save his easily bruisable ego. I've never met someone who could get so butt-hurt over such small things. He must have been made fun of relentlessly as a child (speculation). I highly suggest, to anyone who isn't completely desperate for work, to overlook this company as a potential employer. Because of my position, I rarely had any problems with Jason personally, however, I saw him walk in and berate people for small mistakes regularly. Bullying his employees is clearly a tool he uses to make himself feel better for other inadequacies or problems in his life (of which there are many). In the time I was employed at Instabill (less than a year), 80% of the company turned over. Read that again, 80%. It's not as though they had all been there for a long time. More than 50% of them were there for less than a year, and over 75% were there for less than two years. There are now 3 people left in the company who have been there for more than two years, and most of them are either working on finding new employment or they are hoping to get fired. Working for this company is a mistake. I highly recommend avoiding it.

Thank you for your comments about Instabill. We take any and all criticism and/or praise very seriously and we apologize that you feel your short stay at Instabill was disappointing. Our salary and our tiered incentives program, which we have enhanced over the last year, is competitive and rewarding. Our Account Manager Training Program ensures that all employees have the tools to succeed at Instabill. Our sales manager routinely meets with our staffers one-on-one to discuss issues and to make certain they are on track and focused. Instabill has been a payment service provider to e-commerce businesses since the beginning of e-commerce. The last two years has seen our merchant account managers eclipse new highs in sales. The company is consistently looking to expand into new industries and grow its staff. Moreover, our rating of A+ by the Better Business Bureau is something in which we take a great deal of pride, as is our ‘A’ rating by CardPaymentsOptions.com. Again, we regret you feel your stay at Instabill was less than fulfilling. We are happy to continue this conversation should you wish. We are always available at 1-800-318-2713.
