Company more interested in expanding then supporting their current schools or staff. I know of senior staff seconding maintenance staff and contractors during the holidays to work on their houses rather than the schools and nurseries and then sending invoices to the company to pay.
I know of a school that moved an external classroom, and are still waiting on safely re-wiring the room even though children are being taught in there!
I’ve worked with them many years and I, and other staff, have never had an annual review despite their website claims. Staff at my school received in 2021 their first pay rise in over 5 years and it was well below cost of living at the time. ILG only pay 3% max into the company pension, sick pay follows government guidelines (3 days no pay, then SSP…so approx £88/week). Headteachers rota teaching and admin staff to cover school lunches during their unpaid lunch breaks but don’t offer anything in return. CPD is non existent unless it is a statutory requirement, i.e. first aid training. Teaching staff were coerced into signing out of their teaching pension schemes a couple of years ago (ie called into School during national lockdown and told they had to sign paperwork before leaving the meeting!).
I’ve stuck with them for the convenience of the location and how the job fit in with my young family.
